I have a desk job and I'm taking classes, so I sit a lot. I've been running on and off but haven't been out since the end of August. I have a treadmill and some DVDs, so I have no excuses that there's nothing to do. But getting organized and staying motivated are a problem, each new thing pushes exercise to the back of my list of stuff to do. I belonged to a gym that closed, so now I need to motivate myself to exercise. I don't consume a ton of extra calories, but I don't eat enough protein on a daily basis. I'm hoping to develop a menu/meal plan system that will work for me and my husband so we can both lose weight.

Running
Hey, thanks for that link, Diablo. Licratonic, I've been having the same issue. I've been a beginner runner on and off for some time, but don't see much change. I know I need to change my eating habits, but it's hard to make eating and exercise changes all at once. I know a lot of people on the Runner's World forum say they didn't lose weight until they were putting on at least 10 miles a week running. But you still need to do muscle-building exercises, too.

Smaller steps
I want to get down to 125-130 pounds. I'm at 161, more or less. I'm not following an official diet, and I eat about 1600-1700 calories a day. I'm trying to increase my amount of exercise for weight loss and other reasons.

Anyway, I'm frustrated. I decided that 30 pounds is too big of a goal and it's overwhelming me. So I set my goal at 155 pounds, which is only about 6-8 pounds that I need to lose. Maybe a smaller goal will be less stressful.

7 NEW RULES for the Gym
For me, it was the shock of coming face-to-face with the 65-year-old 350+ pound woman who strolled about the locker room nekkid as a jay bird.

OMG! My eyes! My eyes!
