51 yo mother of five and grandmother to one. I have lived in Alaska since 1995, but don't ski or snowboard. So, it was hard to keep up my walking exercise routine. I was 145 lbs when I arrived in the state and weighed 220 lbs the last time I was in my doctor's office on April 30, 2010. He diagnosed me with type 2 Diabetes, put me back on high blood pressure medicine, high bad cholesterol, low good cholesterol, and high sugar. So time for a dietary adjustment to lose weight and control all those numbers. He gave me three months - till the end of July - to lose weight and bring some numbers down. If I don't, I get the full course of meds. I hope to continue losing weight (weighed 205 this morning) and stick to this.
