My name is David. I am currently 25 years old. I am married and have 2 children, Addison who is 2 and Cooper who is 4 months old. I work at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. I mostly do desk work so I'm not the most active person in the world, but my wife and I like to do an activity known as Geocaching. Basically Geocaching is a high tech scavanger hunt. You take a GPS and download coordinates and go them and look for a hidden container that contains a logbook and maybe some small prizes or trinkets for trade and then you can record your find on a website to track your finds. Its a very popular sport and gaining much credibility. You would think that since we love to Geocache that we would be somewhat fit, but this is far from the case. Before my diet, I weighed 288lbs. I decided then that I did not want to be 300lbs and if I didn't lose weight I would probably not live to see my children graduate. My wife also agreed, being that we are both overweight. We have changed our lifestyle, almost literally overnight and now eat much better. We both joined this site to help count our calories and track our progress. I hope to get down to 185-190 by Thanksgiving 2011.
