Logging everything everyday, or not?
I know I'll continue losing even if I don't log as I should, but I also know that I would do better if I did. It does make you much more aware of (& accountable for) what & how much you eat, & that's a very good thing. It also allows me to plan my snacks, so I don't overdo, & on my 1200 calories a day, I can't afford to go over if I can help it. I really need to make it a strict habit, but as has been said, it is time consuming, & also confusing to me at times. Mrs. Packrat, I've had the same problem, as I mostly make my own recipes, usually with whole foods. Thank you Star Star, for asking this question, & to everyone else for your valuable input, it has helped & encouraged me, & I hope it will do it for others too.

Logging everything everyday, or not?
I really wrestle with this issue too. I think part of it is a discipline thing. I'm a huge procrastinator, & that's my big downfall. Also, I hate logging when I know I've been "bad". I totally agree that I do much better when I make myself log everything I eat. This is very hard for me to stick to, & I know I need to get back to doing it. One big plus for me is that logging helps keep my weight loss steady, vs. the "roller coaster syndrome", which I've been going through lately. With the coming holidays I've been worried about "bahaving myself", & I know that logging will be a really help me with that. So, I'm encouraged now, & will try again to start logging consistently. Thank you Star Star for asking about this, & thank you Munchies & Danzig for your helpful input. Wishing you all the best, GLAMMER

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I just have to say it is so interesting to read everyone's ideas on the best weighing method. Dave Stevens (I think that's correct - if not I'm sorry, my computer is cutting some of my windows off at the sides), I like your idea of daily weighings with weekly averaging. I've said before that I weigh on Sundays after bathroom & before breakfast. Weighing more makes me crazy too, if I'm down a bit I tend to eat more to celebrate, & if I'm up I either want to starve myself or give it up as hopeless. But maybe if I know it's only official once a week I could weigh daily (or maybe every couple of days) without wigging out. TY for this idea, it's definitely "food for thought", LOL!

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I heartily applaud you all for your great comments & suggestions. I've had the habit for years when dieting of weighing once a week, on Sunday mornings. This works well for me. As others have said weighing more often makes me either paranoid so I don't eat enough & feel weak & sick, or over-confident so I splurge to congratulate myself, which seems quite "acceptable" at the time, even though I know I will regret it later. That sounds really dumb as I think about it, but that's actually one of the "symptoms" of binge eating, or I guess any over eating, is making excuses. Just another of those things we have to learn about ourselves & try to correct. I wish you all great success in your lives & your food choices.
