Geesh! "A little bit goes a long way" certainly applies to eating goodies & gaining weight! It's Girl Scout Cookie time again, & they caught me off guard last weekend while shopping with daughter. I bought 2 boxes, & so did daughter. We're both trying hard to lose weight, but those naughty little girls with their cute, sweet little faces beaming at you are virtually IMPOSSIBLE to resist! Add to that the "feel good" fact that we're helping them earn badges & look good to their peers & leaders, & you've got a 1-2 punch to the gut, & that's exactly where it has hit me, LOL! I'm up 4 POUNDS from my FEB 16th weigh-in! Part of me wants to head to Walmart & kick some little Girl Scout butts, but the rational part of me (which hopefully will win out) says it's really ALL MY FAULT, & I just need to suck it up & keep on truckin. I feel like the cartoons, where the person has a little angel on one shoulder & a little devil on the other, & they're arguing it out like crazy! Oh well, regardless of the most recent "cause", it's an ongoing battle, & thankfully I now know what to do to win it. It's actually myself that needs a swift kick in the butt, first for overindulging in those yummy GS Peanut Butter cookies, & second for blaming my gluttony on a couple of sweet, harmless children. ~ But I could swear I saw an evil glint in their eyes as they handed me the cookies, LOL! (As you can tell, I'm feeling a bit conflicted right now). ;-D

Hello, I've been so busy with pool therapy, I keep thinking about you all, but just haven't sat down to journal lately. We are trying to get rid of 13 years worth of extra stuff we've accumulated, working toward the time when we will sell our home & move to the city. Hopefully that won't be for at least 2 to 5 years, but it never hurts to de-clutter. Especially for a couple of old packrats like us, LOL! I haven't been working on losing weight lately as much as I should, & have decided to get more serious about it again. I really want & need to lose the remaining 40 lbs & have my hip replaced, before it goes out completely & messes me up for good. I'm still having trouble with my left shoulder, but it is healing slowly. Hubby & I took a nice drive yesterday, just on some of the back country roads around here, & it was lovely. It looks like we're going to have an early Spring here, because we've noticed that our irises & daffodils are coming up, & there is new growth on the cedar tree at the head of our driveway. We've been having lots of rain, & according to the local weather website's records we've had 6 times the usual amount for this month so far, & it's not quite over yet. We need it badly, since our area has been in a drought for several years now. I hope you are all doing well, & look forward to reading your journal entries. ~ ((((SKINNY HUGS)))) GLAMMER

Hi everyone, I've been away a long time again. I'm up 2 lbs from my last weigh-in, but am not worried. It's the 1st week of the month, & I'm always up a couple of lbs due to my monthly grocery shopping with our oldest DD. We had delicious Thai food yesterday before shopping, then stopped at DQ for mini Blizzards before heading back up the hill to our house. We plan to attend church with our DD's in the city today, then hang out at their house afterward for lunch, & we'll probably watch a video usual. It's a nice family time for us. My left shoulder is still hurting, & keeps "sublaxing" (partially dislocating) when I move "wrong". Pool therapy helps, & I'll hopefully be getting another cortizone shot soon. I'm left-handed, so dealing with this injury is very difficult for me, especially since with my bad legs I use my arms a lot to get up & down in chairs, in my walker, getting in & out of the car, etc. Getting old sucks, LOL!
