Lotus's Journal, 23 January 2008

I'm feelin' pretty good today, despite the rapid weight gain(how much? I'm not telling! I don't know! I'll weigh in a week or so..)I know I'm back on track with a diet that I can stay with. I tried my best to make the South Beach work for me, but after seeing how easy it was to regain after adding a few carbs back, it was just too disheartening, epecially since it was the third time to lose it and regain it within a week!
I am going back to what I know, and what I know works for me. I'm eating low-fat, about 25 grams a day, and between 1000-1400 calories a day, with emphasis on fruit, veggies, whole grains and legumes, and low fat meats and dairy products. High fiber and plenty of protein, lots of water!
As long as I keep a balanced diet, I should be golden! :) I worked out for 30 minutes this morning, danced for 30 minutes with Kaelyn, and I'm fixing to put her down for a nap so I can do another workout. hope everyone is doing great!

Glad that you're finding time to exercise with kaelyn, I bet she loved it. Try another diet if you feel that it is right for you, but from what you just described, it does sound a lot like SB diet.

I learned from the SB diet, but I am not going to limit carbs ary more or freak out about every tiny bit of sugar. I wouldn't feel the need to go on a sugar binge if it isn't forbidden completely. I just need to make healthy choices most of the time, and watch calories and fat, and all will bwe well. Might take a little longer this way, but at least it's a tried and true method for me. It's true, I did fall off the wagon hard from a calorie counting diet, and I never really thought I would go back to it, but it's not really so bad. besides, on any diet I always end up watching calories anyways. With the tools on this site it's much more fun than hunting down my notebook and having to look up the calories of things ten times a day. I only have to put it in the database once and then I don't have to remember everything, so that helps immensely. Otherwise you've got numbers running through your head all day long, and who has the patience for that? I just don't want to have to watch carbs too! Besides I love carbs. :) I'm eating some grapefruit and brocolli right now.

it looks to me like you are doing the best you can friend. What you described, that sounds just like my diet. I'm very happy to be back to normal with fruits, veggies and legumes, fiber, whole grains, etc. It's what my body does well with. I still limit my carbs as much as possible while eating this way and it seems to help! You'll do great, you'll see!
