Hermiones Mom's Journal, 24 October 2017

OK, yeah, so I weighed myself again. This is very unusual for me because I try to stay off the scale so as not to drive myself crazy. But I realized that I generally do not weigh in on Mondays -- I wait until Tuesdays because my diversions on weekends often cause water weight. So now, I'm thrilled because I can post my first weight below 150 since about 1980. Hooray. I never ever thought I would make it this far, and I couldn't have done it without FS. I just couldn't be more thrilled.

Congratulations! I agree FS does help a lot. I looked at a box of donuts on our counter and said I can have one if my calories are down for the day. It said 310 calories for one donut. I skipped that donut!!!

MsDiane1771 -- Yeah, you really have to weigh the benefits against the deficit. But that doesn't mean you can never have a treat. Before I developed IBS, I used to do a splurge meal once a week, and it might have included chocolate cake or ice cream. Now I can't do that anymore, so I have to find things that answer the craving... because I'm human and humans like yummy things. My most recent find for this purpose is called Better Bites Cake Balls and Mini-cupcakes. These are gluten free, dairy-free, vegan snacks that are incredibly yummy and run 110-118 calories, 13 net carbs each. I'm keeping them in the freezer, so when I just can't stand another minute, I have something I can turn to. Anyway, thanks to everyone for all the support. I suspect it will be another two weeks before I'm reliably under 150 -- that's how it's worked every time I "change decades," but at least I've caught a glimpse of under 150. Thanks again.
