maeday42's Journal, 21 April 2017

Well, as unbelievable as it is, I have broken the 250 mark. It's not by much, but I'll take this as a victory. It's definitely an ego boost. When I try, I succeed. I posted the other day that "life was making me ...." and that was a cop out, life doesn't make me eat things I shouldn't and not exercise when I should - we all know the old story, no time, no energy, this is easier than making good food choices. Well, I realized it was not "circumstances", but my lazy self letting me get off plan. I know what I should eat, I know that I should exercise and no one else can do it for me. I know it's hard and takes a LOT of effort, but I said I wanted this. I wanted to control my sugars and weight, I want to be healthy. So, Wednesday, before bed I went over my posts and food diary, slapped myself :-) and got back on plan! The results blinked in my face this morning. I've been in the 250s and up all of my adult life. As I stared down at the scale this morning (and it registered in my sleepy brain) I was in shock, I was no longer over 250! I was under!

Congrats on the milestone! You're right, it is all up to us to make our lives better. I love your attitude and have no doubt that you'll be down another pound in no time. Then after that, ten more and ten more and so on.

Yes! Kickin' it! But YOU are the only one who can have that realisation! Excellent breakthrough Mae!! Keep working that exercise in as you can and avoiding those nasty foods you don't want around your waist weighing you down in your retirement! 😘

I am not sure which FS member wrote this initially, but I wrote it on a post it note and keep it on my computer monitor: "My excuses are between me and where I want to be. I will replace my excuses with reasons to get it done!" It helps me tremendously.

Great loss! I put everything into my journal and post a lot of my thoughts so I can go back just as you've done. It does tend to wake you up.
