I have really let my eating plan fall into disrepair. For the past few weeks, I have not been feeling all that great. I tell myself that I shouldn't eat this or that junk, but then a short time later, I find myself eating it anyway. That really cannot continue.

Heading into the holiday food season may not be the easiest time to get back into healthy eating, but I have to do my best. That means that I have to start recording my food, all of my food, each day. I need to pay attention to what I put in my mouth and that is the best way I have found to do it, holding myself accountable by listing what I eat. It helps me get to the end of the day without getting too far out of line. I have been able to keep up my exercise habits, so that is one thing that I have going for me. I definitely need to focus my attention on portion control, eating more fruits and veggies and less sugar. I have gotten kind of lazy about preparing healthy meals, falling into a rut of convenient but not-so-good-for-me meals, so I need to plan ahead and cook food that is good for me.

So, I am back to clean up my act.

Welcome back. You just have to decide which is more important to you. When the time is right, you will be dedicated. In the meantime, don't beat yourself up over it. It doesn't help at all. Remember why you started this in the first place. You can do it, when you're ready.

When I eat good, whole, healthy food, I feel satisfied when I leave the table. When I eat junk, I feel ever hungrier and want more. It's a marathon, not a sprint. It will feel good when you are able to straighten out again. Gorgeous dog BTW!

I hate cooking and I find myself eating out A LOT! Tonight I'm going to a pizza place with a friend but I checked their menu online and found they have BLT sandwiches. It doesn't have to be boring salads, day in, day out... Keep looking for options!!! You will get better at it as time goes by. Just don't give up!

A lot of discipline and a bit of an indulgence (if you can) may be just what you need. Good luck! It is a tricky time of the year with all the excess food and goodies(junky, sugary crap)...I agree with LadyinDenim...crappy food leaves you craving more, try and focus on quality food.

We've all been there otherwise we wouldn't be on here trying to do better. You've at least recognized the things that need to change and made a commitment to yourself to make the changes...that is at least 50% of the "battle", hope your weeks and months ahead go well, take care!!
