So I really have gotten my net carbs down, but not my calories. I don't know what that will mean going forward. I'm not sure how to do any better. Even tonight, I know I will want something more before bed -- and I'll have some berries, which isn't that big a deal really, but it will bring me up into the 1600 calorie range. That's still somewhere around 800 calories below what I've used today, but I don't know if it's sustainable in terms of weight loss. I'm going to wait to weigh in until Tuesday and then we'll see. I just keep focusing on this truth: Eight months ago, I weighed about 185, more than 20 pounds more than I weigh right now. If I weigh 20 pounds less than I do right now in eight months, then I'll be at goal. I'd sure like to do it sooner, but maybe that's a realistic approach. Well, we'll see...

It is not a race, right? Hang with it.

HM, you and I have a lot of things in common, although I have a few years on you. And we are in a similar weight range with similar goal, so maybe we can progress together. One day at a time, and good luck to us both!

Mom, Slow and Steady wins the race. Remember this, Every moment you are alive. Every single breath you take. Brings you one step closer to your goal. Big loses or minute. It does not matter. Just keep moving forward. Don't look back to see the past. Remember what happened to Lots wife. ALWAYS look forward. You got this.

It is an realistic approach. It may take longer than you want you want, but you will make your goal weight. I like knuckles the mglow monk post to you; the 1st part is my sentiments. Never look back always look forward is good too!

I like all of the responses you received on your post, too, HM. It helps me to read them, too.

Slow and steady. I didn't start calorie restricting until about 2.5 months into eating low carb. I find that it's easier to cut 50 calories at first and keep that gong for two weeks before taking away another 50 calories. Either way, if you are losing, you shouldn't worry about your caloric intake too much. I'd take this slow and enjoy the ride :)
