OK -- I also ate a cookie today. It was a very good cookie -- chocolate chip with chocolate filling. I'm sure I will pay for it one way or another, but the nice thing was that I actually enjoyed it, which has not been the case with most of my splurges. It was perfectly yummy, and so I think for the foreseeable future, if I'm going to have a splurge, I'm going to go directly to Bittersweet Bakery, the best in Chicago, and not bother with the cheap stuff. I think especially after you have given up all this stuff, the cheap stuff doesn't taste very good -- at least that's what I've found.

You have the right idea. If your going to treat yourself make it worth while.

My sentiments exactly. Treats are meant to be just that ... totally worthy of the occasional detour in your plan.

You need a treat once in a while. You have one life. You can't restrict yourself completely. Just enjoy the cookie and don't worry about the damage, you can ALWAYS work it off :)

If you are going to splurge, get the best splurge you can - and ENJOY every moment!

Thanks, everyone. Of course, it wouldn't have made any difference if you'd been critical, since I'd already eaten that darn cookie and there was no going back!

We all need a treat - I will have one later to celebrate my goal.
|
As strict as I am and have been over these last couple months. I think I need a small treat for myself. I have not broken my diet even a TINY bit since I started in over 6 weeks now. So if and when I do, it has GOT to be good. Maybe some Ted Drews Frozen Custard. Just a small one. with coconut and MAYBE marshmallow.
Its nice to think about. But I fear if I give in once, its over. Im the guy that has to go all or nothing it seems.

knuckles the mglow monk -- here's where having IBS works in my favor: I can get away with one chocolate chip cookie, but if I stuff myself with frozen custard, I will be sick for days, which is a pretty serious deterrent. In fact, I am reviewing the menu for my favorite frozen custard place each week, trying to pick a day when I can eat frozen custard and then stay home the next day because I won't be able to leave the house...

A person has to live...just don't eat a whole row of Oreos at one sitting (seen that one done).

I want to laugh and be mad at myself for it. lol missing out on the Custard for you is almost worth not having it. But picturing myself running for the pot (This diet has triggered it) brings back funny memories of fighting with the cat over who gets to poo first. Or ALMOST not making it. Nothing like Peeing from your butt for 10 minutes. LOL
Teaches a healthy respect for QUALITY QUILTED TP!!!! lol

Did I mention my Verbal filter is still kinda busted? lol

Ted Drewes? I used to live in St. Louis KTMM - I remember waiting in line for hours on a hot Friday night...yumolicious though...

Hey - HM, the Cubs are in first place in your NL division, and U thin the White Sox are first in your AL division...WOW!

U thin??? what an autocorrect! Meant "I think"

I got a little distracted this past week when the Blackhawks forgot how to play hockey. Now I'm getting refocused on my Cubbies. Good job today, for sure. Knuckles -- hard to find humor in IBS after two years of struggle. But I really do think it's helped me lose weight, so I shouldn't complain.
