So I haven't done anything right since my last weigh in. My life took over (again) and now I'm getting discouraged again because if I can not do anything and stay the same, what is the point?

Don't look at it like that. Think of everything you've accomplished to get you to this point. You've done more than most people ever do. You actually dared to put that foot forward, you put yourself out there, & you tried. That in itself is amazing. Just like anything in life, there are going to be roadblocks, there are going to bumps. But you shouldn't let it knock you down & out. You are stronger than any obstacle. I promise you, sticking with it will be more rewarding than getting this far & deciding to give up. Anything worth it isn't easy. Not everyone can do this journey. You're awesome, keep it up!

Think of it this way - it's been nearly a month since your last weight in and despite not doing the things you wanted to do with eating, you only gained .2 lbs. That's really pretty darn good. Just think of what you can accomplish by sticking to your plan. Just make a fresh start. Next weigh-in can be a nice downward number.

don't beat yourself up- Just get back at it and make adjustments to the things that are not working for you. You might want to try looking at "dieting" as a new way of life- eating healthy always and just increase or decrease the amount of calories you consume. Substitute fruit for ice cream etc and very occasionally allow yourself some cheat days. some people can't do cheat days because they end up on a downward spiral of cheat day after cheat day- it all depends on how committed you are to a new way of eating. You have to make how you eat a part of your life- that way when crazy stuff happens at least you will still eat the same- I know I got diagnosed with Lung Cancer last march and i ate everything in site because my doctors didn't want me to lose weight- obviously i went straight for the carbs, and i gained 30 pounds. I still have stuff happening in my life- scary stuff- but have decided that i am going to be the healthiest me I can be regardless of what is going on in my life. This has just been my experience, and is certainly not the end all be all in dieting advice, but i have noticed from personal experience a "DIET" is only temporary as most of us use it, as soon as we hit our goal we go back to eating the same stuff that got us on a "DIET" in the first place. I finally realized that this has to be a new way of life and that as long as I am eating a healthy balanced diet with a limited amount of carbs that I can control my weight not by changing the foods I eat but by adjusting my calorie intake up or down. I still allow myself a cheat day or 2 to eat my forbidden foods lice ice cream or cookies, etc, but I eat them is much smaller amounts. Hope this helps

Try a lifestyle that works. I am so tired of people doing fad diets please research and find a lifestyle eating plan that you can live with and lose weight. Research gluten wheat sugar and how addictive they are knowledge is power. I have also been there, weighless, atkins Tlc, weightwatchers... no more Read the Real Meal Revoultion and Lose the wheat lose the belly. Good luck.

Thanks everyone for your comments.. You guys really do keep me smiling and motivated to keep going. I was told that "healthy strong" is the new skinny! I made a lot of lifestyle changes and I have never been a sweets person anyway, so the things I have changed, I don't miss as much as I thought I would. Once I get back into my work out regimen I think I will OK! YOU all are my motivation.
