DairyKing's Journal, 26 January 2016

Good Morning, FS Warriors! I just returned upstairs from 40 minutes on the treadmill. Two days in a row, Yay! All done to the tune of John Wesley's journal. Not exactly Three Dog Night, but the time actually went pretty quick. For those who don't have any idea who I'm talking about, he was the English preacher of the 18th century, and founder of the Methodist denomination, and ultimately over 27 other denominations, including the Nazarene denomination.

It's a dreary day outside, cold and rainy. I've got a lot of reading assignments to catch up on. I will probably continue to work downstairs on cleaning and organizing one of the rooms. We still have a multitude of boxes that we brought with us from the old house, that we still haven't gone through. It's been eight years since we bought the school. I guess we just haven't worked that hard on the inside yet.

Last night I went to bed fairly early - about 10:30. I have noticed that if I stay up late, even if I am occupied with my studies, I tend to go on a recon mission searching out food (convenient food such as candy, chips, pretzels - you get the idea). I don't do that if I go to bed at a a reasonable hour. Plus that enables me to get up earlier and get moving. The last thing I want to do is get in the habit of sleeping-in in the morning.

Well, here's wishing you all have a great day. Toodles!

I can relate to staying up late and the cravings. Lately I'm lucky to get to bed by 12. Much too late.

You seem to have noticed that late night foraging is really an attempt to get enough energy to stay up late. As a night owl, I always get a slow start in the morning and hate to stop at night. Now I recognize my late night craving for carb laden foods is a signal to get a cup of sleepy-time tea and give my body rest. Do I listen? Not always. Most often I am reading and want to continue. My resolve to keep moving toward my goals just kind of melts away after 11 pm. Good luck with doing what you need to to make progress on reaching your goals.
