mars2kids's Journal, 12 August 2015

I was up early again this morning. I actually was exhausted last night and went to bed a little early which probably made the getting up early easier, go figure. :) Now that my workout is in the books, anything else will be an extra bonus.

I got my son off to school this morning. He was so excited to go back. Every year I'm excited for them to get a new year started, but sad at the same time. My daughter starts tomorrow and she's ready, but not as excited. But at her open house last night she was smiling and really positive about the teachers, which makes me feel good.

After open houses last night we got home and were all starving, so my kids pulled out some leftover pizza and I ate it too. Unfortunately I ate too much of it because I wasn't even thinking about what I was putting in my mouth and if I was full or not. Needless to say I completely blew my RDI, but it didn't stop me from getting up and starting again today. I have my healthy lunch and snacks ready, I got a workout in, and I'm planning to get a walk or maybe play a game of volleyball or basketball with the kids tonight, so today will be better.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!!

You did the right thing getting right back to your workout this morning, that's where the majority of us go wrong after a bad meal. Sounds like you will get lots of activity in today, so it will balance out. My daughter is super excited to go back to school, my son not so much. Regardless, they both need it. They are getting bored with vacation and need the interaction and structure, their own independent routines. I always hate to see them go. My kids don't start back until the 24th, so I've got a couple weeks yet. I hope you have a great day!

Awesome - that is what "lifestyle" is about - we have days where we eat or rest but the majority of the time we eat well and exercise - that's all we can expect of ourselves - enjoy your day!

I've moved from lifestyle to ritual. It's calming to have a routine.
