HCB's Journal, 07 March 2015

Greetings Buddies:

I was a virgin - a Bulletproof Coffee virgin. I just made my first cup of coffee with grassfed butter, coconut oil, and almond milk all frothed up together with my fantastic hand blender!

Wow - it tasted kind of good. I do not use sweeteners but I think it would taste good with some natural sweetener. It was kind of like a warm coffee shake.

What is your experience with Bulletproof Coffee?

For those who are critical of high fat low carb plans, perhaps read "Grain Brain" by Dr. David Perlmutter. It is a great resource and he shares interesting information about the body's need for healthy fat.

Words of the week:
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

I am dedicated, determined, and diligent.

I've made it with coconut oil and butter with a couple drops of ez-sweetz, blended with an immersion blender. It's very delicious but I can't do what others do and have it as a meal replacement; I end up wanting solid food in short order and I'm perfectly fine with black coffee, so that works out better for me. Good as a treat, though!

I will read it. Yes it defies my calorie count, so I freak out about all the calories that Oil has. I do need to learn more about it, so I can relax. TY for sharing! Yes your determination will carry you a long way. :) Blessings~Ann

It's what's for breakfast! Most mornings I have mine with coconut cream, coconut oil and some grass fed collagen powder. Can't do butter anymore, and ghee does not froth! Used to use MCT oil, but found that I was getting kidney stones, which never, ever were a problem for me. I love how it gives me nice constant energy all morning, with no dip in blood sugar. Lets me stay focused on things more important than when I will eat next, and what I will eat. Surprising how much time and energy that can consume with some ways of eating I have experienced in the past. I like to sprinkle a little cocoa powder and cinnamon on mine after frothing, and sometimes add a drop or two of stevia. Good stuff! Glad you enjoyed.

Hey HCB! No worries, I'm not even close to giving up. It's just hard to be interactive at this time, going through personal issues and a busy schedule. I'm eating a bit erratically because I'm exercising quite a bit every day (because of Brazilian jiu jitsu). Anyway, I hear coffee with some butter goes a long way! You're making the fantastic decisions as always :)

I do my coffee with the coconut oil, no butter and vitamix it and viola! It's like a latte, only better. About 116 calories, HOT, pure fat and slower released caffeine into my system! Sometimes, I add a tad of sugar...even better!

I haven't tried Bulletproof Coffee, but now I'm curious! I'll look up a recipe and try it tomorrow. Thanks for the post :)
