Spent Friday night (9pm-2am) & Saturday night (5pm-3am) at the ER to support my 32 yr old daughter who had severe upper left abdominal pain. Friday they said she had a pulled back muscle (??? What a laugh). Saturday when the pain got worse even w/pain meds, we returned to the ER. This time a CT Scan was performed. She has an enlarged spleen. Monday, we are going to the Dr for further evaluation.
Saturday no chance for dinner so had an Atkins Shake.
I am so worried about my daughter. I understand that there are only a handful of reasons why your spleen becomes enlarged. I am praying that this is an easy fix for her.

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. I will be thinking about you and your family today and I hope that you have very good news to report after your doctor's appointment.

Oh, moondove, so sorry to hear that. That happened to my son when he had Mono. Sure hope things will be okay, and please know that I am praying for her and for her mama! HUGS, my friend!

Awwwwww.... Thank you everyone. My daughter and I needed BIG GROUP HUGS & PRAYERS! :) YOU ARE ALL WONDERFUL ANGELS! Belive it or not, my daughter called dr 8am this morning to request an appt, still waiting for call back (so I called right before lunch as well). Dr is reviewing all findings and coordinating care plans. Just waiting on a call back as to what that will be. Uggghhhh... I know everything is going to be fine. Just the waiting part is hard...

Oh Moondove, waiting is the hardest part....and I would think that if it is critical they would get right back to you, so the fact that they aren't rushing to put her in hospital or telling you to get there now, may actually indicate that the diagnosis may be serious, but not critical! I am praying! HUGS!

Hi All ~ Daughter had dr exam/blood work, ordered pet scan (hopefully the military insurance approves it). She is on bed rest for the week. dr ordered different meds for pain and nausea to get her through for now, so...she is finally getting some much needed sleep... We are waiting for pet scan & blood work, and go from there. Onward Bound! :)
