jsfantome's Journal, 23 March 2011

Between the sodium increase and the upswing from restarting my exercise routine faithfully - I have managed to get my weight back down by staying faithful to my water intake everyday.

I know that sounds odd - as we all drink our water - but really it can get deceiving! I went back to the beginning - and got 4 20oz bottles and filled them each morning. Then grabbed one and drank throughout the day - until all 4 were empty and awaiting refills. (this was surprisingly a LOT more than I had been drinking.) (at least I was drinking throughout the day - but I am guessing, only about 48 oz.)Now I am back on track to drinking about 80+ oz a day!

So, when you see me write - don't forget your water, all day, every day, non-negotiable!!! that's just what it means! :)

hope you are all well! Much Love.

This is exactly what I needed to see this morning! For the past 3 days my weight has been hanging more around the 136 area. This is fine... I just struggle a LITTLE bit mentally because I don't want to feel like any work is undone. (I did check some measurements though, and they are all good to go!) I definitely haven't been getting enough water, and a few nights ago I ate a very salty snack and I typically don't consume much extra sodium. Perhaps that has something to do with it? Either way, I'm reminding myself not to freak out, but I think upping my water intake will be a huge help!

I have been slacking on my water intake for a few days now. Thanks for reminding me how very important it is! I sure needed that little 'kick in the derriere'. ☺ Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Thanks again for the reminder. Too bad water doesn't taste like Diet Coke. Then we wouldn't need the reminder.

Yes Paula. I think if I were to give someone only 1 piece of advice for a healthy lifestyle - it would have to be water, water, water. Too many people underestimate it's benefits.

skeeter - we all slack up at times - it's so easy to think you are drinking more than you really are! But - focus is everything!

Paula, I know that I have to drink plenty of water or my body lets me know...headaches, fatigue, and constipation...they are all signals that I am not hydrating the way I should. That is one of the great features that the Fitbit site offers is a place to track your water consumption so I am reminded to drink when I log my calories.

I have a 3cup water bottle that I use that way I can keep track of all my water easily... it is so easy to think you are getting enough water and not.

I saw somewhere on this site a recommendation for half your body weight (in pounds) in daily water allotment (in ounces). So a 150 lb person should drink 70 ounces of water daily. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm LIVING in the Ladies Room!

Helewis - that's correct, and if you enjoy a cup of java...which I do...you are supposed to drink the same amount of water ounces, as the coffee you drank (because it dehydrates you.) OH JOY! so, if I have a 12 oz coffee, there's another 12 oz of water on top 70 oz for my body weight of 140. But it really is necessary, and it totally helps and keeps your losses moving!!!

Just on the water topic.. My Dr has told me that if you are not in the bathroom at least once an hour to pee than you are not drinking enough water... and currently drinking between 80 and 120 ounces of water I am in the bathroom once an hour so i figure thats good lol

Good water reminder! I will be so glad when we don't have to boil our water any more, it has been over a month! LOL.

Squiggs I would think that would be a good reason that you might not get all you water in! Goodness gracious!

Yeah they are putting nasty chlorine into our pure water instead... our city drinks artesian water that is more pure than bottled water - normally. Will be glad when it gets back to that I can tell you. Then again I am glad we have running water LOL

We have chlorine in ours all the time, and so filter it....glad that you have running water now also...and I am still praying!

Chlorine doesn't smell or taste all too good but you do want it in your water. It'll kill all those nasty cooties. Yuck.

mmm chlorine.. I get my share at the pool lol seriously think I drink hazerdous amounts at times because some swimmers are splashy.
