Weighed in at 220 this morning WOOHOOOOOOO!
So my PERFECT week is still perfect but losing 1.4 pounds yesterday made up for the frustration of only losing .2 pounds the previous 2 days. So I have 4 more weigh ins including Monday to get to 219 something, which is my mini goal for the week. I guess it really isn't rocket science to eat less and exercise more is it?

I have been doing a lot of exercise and know that I am sweating a lot of fluids out of me and some may come back but I'm only .2 from my mini goal this week and I am going to enjoy today by, working on perfect day #4. Started it off with 21 minutes on the recumbent bike.

So you guys and girls know, I have been trying to recover from a terrible auto accident for going on 5 years now. My car was totaled and the truck that ran into me didn't have a mark for the most part.

My body just wouldn't heal and when I started feeling a little better, I would push much too hard and reinjure something. I am sharing this in hopes that someone may be experiencing the same thing and my story helps. So yes, I would push much too hard, get hurt, and it would set me back and create frustration.

But this year, knowing I have a really bad knee from the accident and still have trouble sleeping due a much worsening back, I said I will not over extend myself. Get a good workout in but not to the point of re-injuring myself. I am not totally spent like my workouts of old but you know what? It's working. My back is hurting much less and I do get some good sleep every once in a while. My knee doesn't swell up every time I shoot hoops with my son as it used to and...

I could go and on but I won't and I hope this wasn't too long winded. I sincerely wanted to share to let anyone who has gone through this learn from my experience. The body has limitations and they become more glaring when extra weight is put on and we don't keep our muscles toned. Most of us didn't gain all that weight overnight so we aren't going to lose it overnight either; especially if you have some physical challengs to deal with.

That is fantastic!!! Woohoo!!! I am so glad you have been able to limit yourself to what you can reasonably do on work outs. I know just how hard that is and how much you want to push yourself. It is absolutely working though! Keep it up =)

Congratulations on 220lbs! That's a big milestone :) It's great that you understand your limitations and know how to work around them. You're almost halfway there! When you get to your goal weight, try to ease into eating more (healthy) food to bring up your calories.

Awesome on the weight. It's so frustrating to see things slow, but it's the way it goes as our body fat decreases. I guess it's a sign of progress. It doesn't make it easier to take. I think most of us push too hard. It's part of the "I want it now" culture. Where you can buy almost anything you want with cash, we're stuck with a body that can still only do so much and can only lose weight at a particular rate. I want the new body.

Wouldn't it be great if weight loss were steady and consistent each day? Great job on your weigh loss and hitting 220, hoping you get 21something by weigh in time.

Love the quote! Good for you for taking it easy this time. Balance and moderation in all things. Have you tried yoga, light walking, or swimming? Those are all pretty easy on the joints and such :)

Haven't done Yoga and believe it or not, walking, even slowly still makes my knee swell so I ride the bicycle. It doesn't seem like it should make it swell but after a 3 mile walk, it will. I love that quote as well.

Possibly start with one mile walks and work your way up. Your hard work this week is paying off. Great job. Keep it up.

Thanks Christy and skwhite and the rest of you. What a group we have. I'm a big disciple on using motivation techniques and movies are one for me. I love the movie REMEMBER THE TITANS when the Titans were getting their buts kicked. At halftime in the locker room the coach talked about winning or losing but doing your best...and that's all anybody could as for. Julius, the leader of the team said what I though to be profound and very motivating to me. He said, No, it ain’t, Coach. With all due respect, uh, you demanded more of us. You demanded perfection. Now, I ain’t saying that I'm perfect, 'cause I'm not. And I ain’t gonna never be. None of us are. But we have won every single game we have played till now, so this team is perfect. We stepped out on that field that way tonight, and, uh, if it's all the same to you, Coach Boone, that's how we want to leave it. I take things like this and use them in my life. 4 days have been perfection. I haven't lost that much weight but that's not the point. I committed to 5 days of perfection and it will happen. What if we can get 10 perfect days out of a month? That's 120 perfect days in a year. That's only about 33% with 67% not perfect or mediocre and we would probably still get healthier. Yes, I am odd. ;)
