Good Morning, FS Warriors! Up at 3:30 and out the door about 4:00. Did some speed work for 2 miles. It was about 68F and I sweated up a storm. Note to self: When it's warm and you work out hard, you get wet. Anyway, it was a good run, and less stressful without the uncooperative and defiant GPS watch. I have been following this Heart Rate Monitor training book that I got a few years ago, so I have concentrated on running and keeping my heart rate below 70% of my Max heart rate. It felt good to open the throttle up a little today. I know I'm getting healthier, because my resting heart rate was down in the 50's this morning, whereas it was high 70's when I started this jouney. According to my calculations, I was running at about 90% of my max heart rate for 1/8 to 1/4 mile stretches. I noticed I have passed the 20 lb. weight loss milestone. Yay, again. Another 20 and I'll have something to bragg about. Looks like rain this evening and tomorrow, but tomorrow is a rest day for me anyway. Loving the warmer temps.

Had worship practice last night. The Worship Leader and the piano player are not going to be there this Sunday, so it was all on me. I'm the only one with an instrument, so I'll be playing the guitar and singing with the girls. I've got one solo to do. I've been enjoying this. Who'da thunk I would be playing and singing in church and playing gigs at nursing homes at 64 years old. God really does have a sense of humor!

Well, anyway, that's all I have to say about that. Toodles!

232.5 lb Lost so far: 22.0 lb.    Still to go: 42.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Three hots and a cot; just like in the Army. What could be better than that?

What a wonderful feeling it is to feel healthier & stronger because of your exercising & healthier eating habits. And such a joy to know that these benefits will last a lifetime, as long as we keep up the changes we've made. That's awesome that you get to be the musical mainstay for your worship team. I'm in the same boat, but more permanently. Hubby & I have started a fellowship here in our valley, & I am the worship leader. In fact, Hubby & I are the whole worship team so far, LOL! We're trusting in God to bring others in as He wills. I was sick yesterday with sinuses. Feeling better today though, just had breakfast & will get on the exercycle @ 10AM. Hubby helps me keep on track with the exercycle as I keep forgetting. Have a fabjulous day, & keep fighting!

Was in the same boat a couple weeks ago....the piano player, bass player, drummer, and worship leader were out. So it was me on guitar w/ a few ladies, except I can't sing in their key so had to transpose down a few notches. But all went well. At least I had some advance notice and planned for it. Paybacks....this Sunday I'm the one out. :)

Same here Jmb; can't go that high unless I give myself a wedgie. These girls are pretty accommodating; even if I'm in Ab or E, they'll harmonize right along with me. It's great to work with people that just enjoy being there.
