Good Afternoon, FS Warriors! Ran 3.0 miles this morning with my crappy watch. Couldn't wait for my appointment at 11:00 when the Nike+ Service Rep was going to call me. She called. Ughh. Allow me to offer a bit of unsolicited advice here: never order your product directly from Nike. Order it from Amazon or some other vendor who will allow you to exchange or return it for a refund, no questions asked. Nike claims to stand behind their product, but you go through a grueling stupid process, that may take 2 to 3 weeks start to finish, to get them to commit to an exchange. I probably would have already had a replacement from Amazon. What really irks me is all the data is uploaded from the device to the Nike+ website, showing that I ran 1158 one-mile laps in 2 miles, burning 56 calories, with a HR of 96 BPM, and they want proof that my HR monitor strap is not the problem. Well, duh, let's see, it works fine with your Nike+ Sportband, and it works fine with my Polar HR monitor watch. Her response: "I just want to investigate whether there is an issue with the HR monitor strap." What?!!! She wanted me to send the watch back to them, they would take a week to determine if the watch is defective, and take another week to get me another watch if it was, or charge me for another watch and send it to me if it wasn't defective. Hello; you've got the evidence right on your own website! We don't have access to the same information that you do. Haha! I managed to stay calm for 45 minutes. You don't want to know how the converstaion went from there! She is going to send me a watch, with a Return Authorization, after receiving my credit card info. And if they determine that the watch is not defective, they are going to charge me for a new watch. I said, "Go ahead, but if you determine that the watch is not defective after all the proof I have shown you over the last week, I will post Nike incompetence over every bit of the internet that I can possibly post to." She said I would be within my rights to do so. LOL! I have printed off all kinds of evidence, just in case that evidence were to disappear. Can you tell I was hot? I'm Mr. Gadget for crying out loud! I have nothing to gain by sending back a watch that I love. It just doesn't work. Ok, I've vented. Toodles!

Oooh, that sort of thing really gets to me too! Just remember the whole saying about the flies and the vinegar. ;)

Amazon is dynamic about returns and refunds. I also learned the same way as you and now never deal directly with a manufacturer.

Yeah, I never understood that thing about catching more flies with honey than vinegar. I don't want to catch them; I want to kill them. Don't see the point unless you are making raisin pie and you run out of raisins. :)

I once bought a polar watch and strap and when I got them one of the batteries was dead.

Same as classic, I always try to go through the stores if possible. I know from previously being a store manager and having a husband who is one now, that it's easy for the store to get credit for something defective from the manufacturers, not so easy for the end customer.
