Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 07 April 2014

2.5 hours to go! Then hopefully I will get to see my little jelly bean again. Who.. apparently isn't the size of a jelly bean and is the size of a banana now. Why are all baby sizes compared to fruit or veggies? Now I'm craving fruit salad.

So? No gym today. Instead I'll be at the doctors office for about 2 hours first for the ultrasound then for the doctors appointment. Probably a good thing anyways. When I was coming down from the hay loft last night I caught my leg on the elevator and jabbed a big ol metal rod into my thigh. Turns out.. my thigh is no match for the metal rod so now I have a nickle size bruise on the side of my thigh. Ow. If I sit too long it gets stiff and I hobble. Ever try to hobble when you waddle??? The entertainment value is apparently very high at least according to the kids.

So.. a day to let my leg heal. I get to hopefully find out what I'm having so I know if I need to go shopping for all things pink. Hand me down carharts and a pink bow should work right?? Now I just have to figure out how to concentrate and get work done...

Be careful while you are carrying that little one inside of you... A little fruit salad sounds good to me too! Hope your leg heals quickly...not fun even when you are not pregnant!

:( I'm sorry to hear you bruised yourself rather well. The produce analogy is common because it is a good basic, visual comparison/ frame of reference. When tracking prenatal development most people aren't really good at understanding measurements in terms of inches, centimeters or grams, but most people can visualize a banana, etc. I imagine you already know that and are just not appreciative of temptations for food indulgences when you are trying to control your food intake. I'm not sure what another good object category would be, not sure I'd like things like wildlife. ("Today your baby is the size of a pill bug. At __ age it will be comparable to a cockroach, but within a matter of weeks it will grow to the size of a tarantula or a fruit bat..") :P Have fun at the U/S!

I'm confused - is jelly bean a fruit or vegetable?

I call fruit.. they're fruit flavored. :) Therefore.. a food group.

It's a boy! I think that means I should say peanut and not jelly bean anymore.
