throw those chips out the window right now. Ha Ha. I am going to have almonds for a salty crunchy snack. (atkins lacks crunch) but I have trouble stopping at one serving...uhg

Have you ever tried the cocoa almonds? They are coated in a semisweet cocoa powder and not too bad carb-wise. I think it's 3g net carbs for a 1/4 cup which isn't great but it helps with the sweet tooth.

If you must eat chips, weigh out an ounce and be happy that you had some chips. An ounce will not destroy all the work you've done. Have a great evening.

Yep. I'm with Kimberly Diane... I end up throwing out almost full bags of chips because I don't want to be tempted. I'll buy one now and again for the kid, and for me to have a carb backload for a bit, but after a little, toss them away. The first couple of times I felt half nutty for it, then I realized that's been my whole problem all along. I have no idea why being protective over stupid potato chips comes naturally, but we are not automatically protective of our bodies. It ought to be the other way around, and after a few times of throwing them out, you'll realize that you've **TURNED** it around! Have a few, offer up some to your family, and then pitch them.

Ah Chips... my weakness. Then donuts. But chips are always in the house for husband. I think LadyBea's idea of measuring out an ounce is excellent. Think I'll do that so I don't dive into the bag and make a meal out of them.

Weird, maybe we're on the same wavelength. I went to the store to get a bottle of Ballatore for my wedding anniversary and every salty snack in the store was calling to me. I resisted too!

I love chips too. I have found Green Giant roasted Tortillas made out of vegetables and they are pretty good without all those high fat. They come in Zesty cheddar or Ranch dressing.

My weakness is Doritos, any flavor... I loooove them! Anywho, I know I can't have them anymore, so when I'm craving something crunchy, I eat pork rinds instead. I've never really been a huge fan of them, but I've learned to tolerate them, and they're actually quite filling. Just a few of them is all I need to curb my craving.

On this website, someone recommended a low carb website http://yourlighterside.com/ The author has a Dorito style chip made from cauliflower, egg and cheese. I made them twice now and they really do make you feel like you are eating chips. They are not a low calorie food, just a low carb food, so you can still over do. I added that recipe and the zucchini chip recipe which is zucchini, eggs, and cheese to fat secret. currently they are pending approval. But when you have those chip cravings, these really do work.
