I walked toooooooooo soon after developing the blister on my heel. (STUPID STUPID STUPID) It became so much worse. Needless to say I couldn't walk today and I feel BLECHHHHHHHH about it!!
On another note; I read a comment on here regarding Atkins products and that they are some how detrimental. Is this true? If anybody knows anything about this, I would be interested to learn about it. I do purchase Atkins products and don't want to trip myself up. It stated something about the ingredients and that they were not the best choice, since after all Atkins is in the business to sell their products. Thank you in advance.

Don't know about Atkins, but figured I'd give you some unsolicited advice as to the blisters from walking. Make sure you aren't using typical cotton socks. If you invest in a good pair of running socks it will really help. I use Ininji running socks and I wear balega running socks over them for a double-layer of protection. When I first started losing weight, my feet blistered terribly. At night I would coat both feet in cocoa butter which seemed to help. But the socks make all the difference in the world.

Thank you for the advice 2ManyCurves. I will definitely look into that. I have become addicted to my power walks and feel very lethargic when I miss them. Who would have known?? Hahahahahahaha

Many people have problems wth some of the ingredients in the Atkins products. It is generally felt that (especially for the first month or so) sticking with whole foods is a much better choice. I've not tried the frozen dinners. Every time I looked at them, I just thought of how much I dislike most frozen foods. And many of the Atkins frozen dinners look like you could so easily make it at home. Meat & veggies. Just my opinion though. Others might have a more positive take on them.

Thank you DarleneW101. I haven't bought any of the dinners/meals. I have bought the shakes and bars (sweet tooth). I make all of my meals at home from fresh ingredients. I just hope I'm not sabotaging myself. Hahahahaha :O/

I feel if your losing weight your doing GREAT!!! I am using 2 frozen Diet dinners a day from with ever company that has something I like. It is just so much easier to go with them. I know exactly what my Calories are each meal and these dinners have come a LONG WAY in taste. I remember them not tasting so good years ago, but NOW they taste just like the food you would make yourself. I have lost 21 pounds in 7 weeks using these so I am VERY HAPPY WITH THAT RESULT.

Kim, I had initially bought a bunch of the bars and shakes as well as I too have a HUGE sweet tooth. But, I found that my body just didn't like those products. I didn't see the scale move as often as I thought it should. I cut them out after only a week and have since discovered my new sweet tooth fix: FAT BOMBS!!!! OMG these little bites of rich goodness not only curb my sweet tooth, but are LOADED with wonderful healthy fats and help me get in my fat content for the day without having to drown all my foods in oils and butter. There are a number of recipes out there for fat bombs and they are SUPER EASY to make. I made mine in about 10 mins. I stuck with a very generic recipe that merely had coconut oil, butter, almond butter, cocoa powder and stevia in it. That recipe can be added to and tweaked later as my diet allows with unsweetened coconut flakes, coconut manna, almonds, macadamia nuts etc....Each little fat bomb (my recipe made 24) is about 190 calories and gives me 14g of dietary fats, and is rich and chocolatey. If chocolate isn't your thing, there are recipes for fat bombs that include cream cheese and lemon, toffee, etc.

You combine and mix the different meal lines? I never thought of that. I will have to check the carb counts! Thank you for your post. :O)

I really did not care for the shakes and ended up dumping the stuff. I can't speak for the rest of their products. I say we should eat some of the things we do like, just in moderation. I count calories every day; even on Sunday when all bets are off. I also am not a pop drinker and have found that alcoholic beverages really do mess up your diet. Haven't had a glass of wine in three weeks, and have lost most of weight in that time. I'm pumped!

Alcohol is my demon. I love to have a couple cocktails at night. Thank you for the information clearwatermaillady. I am going to check out calculator.net for sure. It's nice to have people to bounce things off and make an occasional confession. :O/ - I appreciate all of you!!

KimReed, I asked my doctor and a couple of nutritiousness about Atkins diet. The problem with Atkins is you eat too much protein which will cause liver damage and kidney stone and maybe failure. I also asked about the Rotation Diet before I was a diabetic and they said that your body wants to be on a schedule so I didn't do it. Before I was seeing a doctor I did the rotation diet and the first month I lost 30 lbs. The second was 15 lbs. kept it off for 12 years. Then I slowly went back to old habits and now I'm a third more heavier than I was. When on the rotation when you reached a plateau, then relax and eat like on the women's highest calories (1800). Now that I'm a diabetic the rotation diet is definitely off due to it would be really hard to control my blood sugar (glucose). One of my nutritiousness said if you want to go on one, do Weight Watchers or Nutri-System. I am personally on a 1600 calorie diet. I hope this helps.

Clean, whole foods from a variety of food groups are best. Even for shakes, invest in a NINJA (or other really powerful blender) and sprinkle in your own fiber. The only way you can really control what is in a product is to make it yourself -- also deters munchies...who wants to make a batch of oatmeal cookies tonite so they can have "1"?!?!? :oD

But, in truth, we eat moderate protein, low carb, high fat (not high protein, even low-carbers are warned against too much protein). Unfortunately, some doctors will not consider LCHF diets for their patients. I think they are doing their patients a disservice. LCHF has gotten rid of all of my sugar spikes and low sugar shakes, etc. I'm not saying you shouldn't listen to your doctor, I'm just saying LCHF has helped a lot of people with blood sugar issues.

Although not strictly following Atkins, I do often buy their frozen dinners and stock them for emergency lunches. I don't buy the bars, etc. because of the sugar alcohols. BTW - have to laugh at the protein comments because I am struggling to meet the new protein RDI. How many tons of meat would you have to eat to get too much?
