Happy Weekend, my fellow "losers":

I am hanging in there despite feeing frustrated and irritable when addressing the "Idiot Box."

I have been doing well with food for about five weeks, drink one gallon of water daily, and exercise at
Orange Theory Fitness (My new favorite thing now...) and I have NOT lost one stinking, crummy pound on the "Idiot Box."

I understand the scale lies. I understand muscles hold water after exercise. I understand muscle weighs more than fat. I understand I could be losing inches (pants still tight...) but not weight.

I don't care about all of that...I still should be losing at least one stinking, crummy pound on the scale by now!

What the hell? Too much fat? Protein? Not enough carbs i.e., fruits and veggies? Fortunately, I will not give up or give in because...

I am dedicated, determined, and diligent!

Sorry to hear this, HCB. My heart goes out to you. There's nothing more demoralising than busting a gut to do everything you should and not seeing the 'Idiot Box' budge. Looking at your food & exercise diaries, you should definitely be seeing something happen. The only thing I can think is that, with a calorie intake of less than 1200 calories a day, maybe you're not actually eating enough to keep your metabolism up. I'm no expert of course but, in the absence of anything else, perhaps it's a possibility? Well done though, for your super determined attitude!

Muscle. You're gaining muscle. Are you measuring yourself? Clothes have to be getting baggy.

Your attitude is what is going to make you successful! Surely something is going to give soon, it has too!

A friend of mine was going through the same thing, started eating more for a few weeks, lost a pound or two, then did a carb-cycling type of diet, lost more, then stayed home from the gym & spent a couple hours a day walking on her treadmill while juggling 3 separate households, went back to the gym doing pilates instead of weight training; total of 14 pounds lost before her high school reunion. That whole story to get across the point that you WILL find a way to kick that "idiot box" out of its lethargy & show you that your diligence paid off. In the mean time, keep enjoying the fact that you maintain your focus and drive to succeed.

I know your frustration!!! Even though folks say all the right things, and you read the reasons why it is not moving.....still under all that good will and facts..it SUCKS not to see the scale move!! I'm right there with ya sista!!!!
