Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 15 April 2013

Day 15. I'm at the halfway point of my madness challenge and I had to do it. I did. If I didn't I would have cracked and started sucking my thumb in the corner while I hummed the mickey mouse clubhouse theme song. I took the weekend off. I didn't log, I didn't weigh, I did chores, made pancakes for everyone then.. I went back to bed. I was lazy. I ate what I wanted when I wanted. I let the house turn into one of those homes you see in movies that just got hit by a bomb. Yup! And I'm pretty darn proud of myself. I took a 5 hour nap on sunday. 5 wonderful snore filled, droolin on my pillow, hair stickin up, one sock on, one sock lord only knows where... I slept hard. I didn't workout. I did chores.. then NOTHIN!

I feel wonderful. The scale isn't showing that much of a jump. Only a half a pound probably because I spent most of my time sleeping. Sure.. the cinnamon buns and pancakes are now a half pound on my butt.... they're temporary though. In 2 days we've had 4 calves, 6 kittens, and a thaw that is letting us get back outside and get busy so my nap is probably the last one I will get in a long time. I'm also going to be chasing down 4 calves to bottle feed them until at least Wednesday.

So starting today I'm back on track. Well rested, not nearly as cranky, with my first cup of coffee and.. I'm not yawning a million and one times with tears in my eyes because they won't stop watering. The amazing part is over the weekend there was no cursing in front of the amish, no soda, no oreos.. but no workin out. Then again.. I burn about 2500 calories a day just workin on the farm so it's kind of a workout. WAIT.. I moved 50 bales for the amish. That was a workout. So there.. I even worked out one day. See?? Even my brain is working a little better today. I should take days off more often.

It sounds like that is exactly what you needed this weekend! We all need it occassionally (I struggle with the just occassional part lol). Enjoy your rested brain while it lasts ;)

You did get a workout in by doing chores and getting hay bales moved. If it's burning calories, it's a workout. You'll get that 1/2 lb. off in no time. I wish I got a 5 hour nap, that sounds glorious!!

Glad to hear you got some rest. And chores are definitely exercise. As for the pancakes and cinnamon buns, they are temporary. With all the chasing of the baby calves, you'll work that off by end of today!

Warning: do not eat this journal while eating, LOL! I started reading while eating my bowl of lemon yogurt with fiber one & granola, dropped my spoon while laughing, then had to take time out to wash the yogurt off my black Zumba pants, my leather chair (including the arm & base), and my spoon. Sounds like a pretty perfect weekend with one heck of a workout.

Whew my friend...I bet its fun to bottle feed those calf's..if you have time..we rarely ever have to feed ours as the mom's do that..I know on a dairy farm you have to milk yours...moving that hay is a job..have done that too...I am glad you took some time to get that much needed sleep..some times we just have too..Take care of you..:O)

After your schedule, I'd say a nap was exactly what you needed!
