Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 12 April 2013

You would think sitting in a car all day just going from appointment to appointment would be restful. It's not. Especially when you have to make 300 stops between here and there and inbetween. And there are 90 yr old driving giant boats only going 20 miles an hour going down the middle of both lanes of traffic... I wonder where they were all going. Maybe there was a bingo singles lunch or something.

Anyways... by the time I got home, did chores, threw a pizza in the oven, and looked at the disaster that has become the house. I was exhausted. I didn't workout. I did burn more calories running around than I would have sitting on my butt though. And we tried Veggie Chips! Yummy.. with a strange aftertaste of broccoli. The 9 yr old even ate them. Right now the other half of the bag is in the chip bowl as an experiment to see if hubby will accidently grab the wrong bag and eat one. It's not mean... its science!

Speaking of mean. I was getting the whining there are no cookies in the house again so I fixed the problem... Sorta. I made whole grain chocolate chip cookies last night. They look like chocolate chip cookies. The texture is a lil more.. bumpy, grainy,... It's hard to describe. And you can't eat one without downing about 4 glasses of something. After the first one all I could think of was a magazine article at the doctors office about grains being the little scrubbers of the colon. Yup... It's that kinda texture. At least when they whine there are no cookies I can say yes there are.. go check the cookie jar!

I'm gonna crawl under my desk and take a nap now. Little man has gotten up at 4:30 two mornings in a row. I'm soooooooooo freakin tired. My eyes are watering so bad someone thought I was crying. Maybe I can fake a mental breakdown so they send me home early.

Veggie chips are really good. I am making Samoas and Tagalongs today so me and cookie temptation will be fighting until I get them sent off. I mean you gotta try one to make sure they don't taste bad before giving them away right? lol

Sounds exhausting!! You don't have me wanting to try whole gain chocolate chip cookies with your description lol. Iama- Home made samoas and tagalongs? I don't know if I could resist if I had those in my house, good luck!

I want the recipes for the the samoas and tagalongs! But.. Don't give them to me until I'm around 130 lbs. It might be a motivating factor.

appointments are exhausting! You are doing well though, losing weight! congrads girl! Keep those cookies out of the house, no one need them really:-) Put an apple in their hand:-) HAHA. Look up some recipes for protein bars, or or... I bought PB2, and that stuff is so good. Almost no fat peanutbutter. Be strong, your kicking butt!

I've never tried veggie chips, maybe I'll have to pick some up this weekend and see if the family will eat them. You need to get some rest! I know, easier said than done when you have a little one. That's part of the reason I don't want more kids now, because mine don't wake me up and they can now do most things for themselves, when I can't sleep it's all on me. I hope you find some time for sleep this weekend.

Driving around like that wears me out, heck, just reading about it does. I like whole grain cookies ; too much! I have several recipes, including some gluten free cowgirl cookies (one of the main reasons I gained weight when I went gluten free. I'm in love with kale chips right now, probably not something kids would like or hubby would ever accidentally try, lol. Oh, dried apple chips are yummy, & Trader Joe's has some vacuum-fried pineapple chips that are a real treat, relatively healthy, for satisfying sweet tooths. Cookies are hard to replace, though. I had favorite chocolate chip granola bars that satisfied me while not blowing my diet. If you want a different cookie recipe to try I can share some of mine.

Maybe I should buy the DH some veggie chips. He claims he needs to drop some weight too but somehow he can't give up his chips! Get some sleep, drag little man back into bed with you...maybe he'll get the hint and go back to sleep.

Hope you slept well this weekend. My family likes sweet potato chips...I think those are healthier. My favorite are the homemade kale chips but I bet you already have that recipe.
