Facing myself in the mirror of this weekend.. not bad! Had a bit of an emotional rollercoaster (not great) but the outcome is a changed way of thinking... (fantastic!) So in my book...not great+change=fantastic! How's that for new math!

Weight stayed the same. Even though I had an indulgence day built into my weekend.

I am starting a 'protein' shake mid morning and one mid afternoon, then a healthy (low carb) regular dinner w/ unlimited low carb snacks if wanted...way of eating... for the next couple of weeks. Why?

Well in part because of returning to curves... as I was reading about muscle development and skinny fat, etc... and I want to nurish the muscles without overdoing the carbs.

Also, in part, because I am hopeful this short term change will help continue the losses at the 1-2 lbs per week goal that I have.

I am taking a trip in late March (to a beach area) and am working towards losing 10 lbs by then.

Eventually, when I return to Maintenance land... I would like to be able to occasionally build this type of routine into my schedule. I think I would enjoy an 'indulgence' more - now and then - if I had a tool like these protein shakes / along w/ the exercise - to keep things from jumping back up weight wise.

So I am embarking on a bit of an experiment... but that is what is required this close to my goal. I really need to figure out how to eat week to week and be able to drop back to my goal weight if I go up... or just enjoy the day to day when nothing special is going on...and still be able to plan ahead for the times when I want to enjoy whatever it is I want to enjoy. That's what living is all about, isn't it?

hope you had a great weekend!!! Looking forward to this week!

Off to the grocery store for some fresh strawberries!

Much Love.

I see you are back to your old self and planning - great news. Enjoy those shakes but watch out - they are addictive.

Sounds like a great plan and great that you have an event to target for those last 10#. Aren't they the hardest. Keep up the great work.

well, back home from a long day out. Grocery store, volunteer work, yikes...it's 3:45 and have not even eaten today! Not good!!! And still no message on my answering machine. Well, perhaps they had the day off. One can always hold out hope!!!

Paula, sometimes we need a mini meltdown to get to the heart of what's eating at us! Glad that you are feeling better. Good luck with the new eating plan. As for the 10 pounds by the end of March...you got that licked my friend! And yes, most of the government offices are closed for the day, and I think that includes the support people for the PD, so tomorrow! Hugs and love, my friend!

You sound positive :-). Maybe 2 pounds is a 'heavy' loss to expect so close to your goal. 3 pounds a month would be great at this stage. I just don't want you to set yourself up, and be disappointed. You are doing so well.... And after all, the scale is just a number... If to are going to curves and building muscle and shape, that's more important and attractive :-)

I like the shake idea....have been thinking about something similar, so will be watching to see how it works for you.

Experimenting is scary stuff, right? If it doesn't work, then there is all that time lost and the fear that if you had tried it a little longer, it might have worked, etc. I know you are right, though, it's a necessity to go the distance. I am rooting for you! I know you will figure this puzzle out and find a way to enjoy life and still maintain.
