I do this 90% of the time. otherwise I log afterwards. all food must be logged for me to be able to analyze. for me the purpose of fatsecret is to track data to analyze.

Looks like you are doing well! Logging is a powerful tool for me as well. The family gets upset but ‘if I can’t weigh and log it then I won’t eat it’ is my motto. A few chest things I don’t log are gum (1-3 pieces per week), pickles and the occasional piece of hard candy. If I have two I have to log ;). Keeps me from eating a whole bag!

I am with you on this Ches - I have to log my food, first...then eat. I can justify portions and food choices so easily in my head...then when the numbers go on the "paper" it puts things back into perspective. thanks for your post.

Thanks all!!!! I am 17 hours in my fast and my throat is a little dry. I just brushed my teeth again to get my mind off of FOOD and it did the trick. Now it's time to log what my dinner will be. I think I can eat 1500 calories slowly over 1/2 hour and stay under 10 grams of carbs for the day. Like Chris said "Yoooooo Joe!!" Leaving the office in 2 hours and counting.

I have to create a meal plan first or I will shoot over and forget what I eat. If I just go out and eat it is hell to try to even everything out at the end of the day to hit my macros.

Put everything you are going to eat together on the table, relax, drink water, take a picture of your food and start eating slowly. I don't always take a picture of my food because when I remember it i have no longer food 🐷, I feel that taking the picture thing helps me to take my time to eat. Good luck! 😀

I try and figure out my meal plan for the day and log it. if I can't log it then I feel like I've ate bad for the day.

if I go to my settings and change my info for my RDI will it change my start date and weight from when I first joined FS?

@LTHOMP56, no. Only when you change your diet plan will your start date and weight be affected.

When I'm contemplating food choices for a meal. I frequently check the calories and nutrition with the FS food data base. It helps me make better choices and stay within my goals...

Ches, Logging keeps me accountable to myself...logging the high and low calorie days makes me realise that even big calorie days can be absorbed without losing ground...good luck mate!!
