Hujar's Journal, 15 August 2018

I have been becoming discouraged. I have been dieting since May 5th and I'm just stuck @ a 27lb. weight loss. I go down 2lbs. then up 3lbs etc. Trying to see what's going on. I am doing 1300 calories a day and I pretty much stay right around there. I have been researching Keto, but I'm an insulin diabetic and therefore it is not recommended for me. I know I need to exercise. I guess I'm looking for some encouragement to keep going.
234.6 lb Lost so far: 24.4 lb.    Still to go: 27.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

take a look at what you are eating and see if anything sticks out that may be interfering. sometimes certain carbs can make you retain water and slow your weight loss. after a 20+ pound weight loss I redid my RDI. I started an aggressive exercise program too and upped my calories to ensure I had the energy to support it. I was too low for my size. while this site is overly generous there are plenty of online calculators to doublecheck.

there's doctor's that use keto to cure diabetes.
Hang in there. Just like everyone said, take a look at what you are eating and start moving

Are you getting a variety of foods in your diet? Are you staying away from prepackaged meals that are high in sodium? And are you exercising as well as drinking lots of water. Just my opinion, I believe it is important to stay away from white flour, white rice, alcohol, refined sugar, and diet beverages.

If you are a type 2 diabetic there's a possibility you can reduce your need for medications with a new approach involving diet and meal spacing that is successful. Unfortunately insulin is notorious for causing weight gain so you are doing well to maintain. To make the changes to reduce insulin you would need the cooperation of a knowledgeable doctor. If you are interested in learning about how it's done, look up Dr. Jason Fung's videos on YouTube. Check out "the perfect treatment for diabetes and weight loss."

Do an exercise that is fun to you. I love dancing so when I’m home I dance doing everything. You’ll get there! Keep up the good work!!

You can do keto, you just have to up your carb intake a little! Or that’s what my mother in laws doctor suggested anyways.

Fcuk that discouraged noise. Any T2 who drops 25# without keto is killing it and inspiring af. Have you considered fasting? Guaranteed to break any stall. As others have pointed out to you, Keto cures diabetes. That's why its "not recommended." Diabetes is a $250 Billion industry and the ADA is bought and sold by Big Pharma.

Just adding a little exercise, even walking will give you a kick start. If you have the energy burpies have to be one of the best whole body work outs without equipment. Start with 5 and add to it.

I did not see noted whether you are T2 with insulin or T1. Insulin is a game changer.

I’m T2 diabetic and I stalled for a couple weeks till I had a cheat meal . “Beef hamburger and fries” 1000 cals in one meal. It made me feel like crap but I started burning weight again after a few days. Next time I’ll just eat a higher calorie healthy meal instead of burger and fries. My body doesn’t like gluten anymore.

I took a look at your food diary, your grits because you are using instant have no fiber. if you like grits I would boil up a small amount of real grits even if you need to do it the night before and just warm it up. totally different in fiber. Same with rolled oats, whole foods with fiber are much better for you especially now. I take it you don't cook for yourself much. Look closer at labels of the foods you are stocking up on and find the ones that mimic as closely to home cooked with all the fiber and least amount of yuck. salmon is a quick dinner and great for you too. I just fry it up in a pan and it is ready in about 10 minutes, you can bake it too. If you are going to eat carbs make them work for you.

Go vegan and eat up to 2000 calories a day on a low fat vegan lifestyle. I lost 134 pounds in 11 months 2 years ago and maintain my weight at 140. I’m a size 3-4. I feel amazing and I’m saving TONS of money not buying meat, fish or dairy. Im allergic to eggs so I never ate them. You can eat carbs and lose weight. Don’t restrict your calories and make yourself sick. You’ll have tons of fiber, nutrients, vitamins. You’ll feel absolutely amazing and never hungry because you can eat as much fruits and vegetables as you want. I was a cake and chocolate addict and fruit stopped those cravings. Type 2 diabetes GONE... High blood pressure GONE. Over 2 years and I’m maintaining a heathy weight and I feel absolutely amazing.

What I did was to eat at maintenance for a week to reboot my metabolism. Starting losing right away after that. Now I'm putting in one or two days at maintenance every week, with the rest at 1200, to see if that can keep the plateaus at bay.

Try intermittent fasting. Eat dinner as early as you can say 6pm, don’t eat breakfast and eat lunch as late as possible. Eat same calories as you are eating now you will be burning your fat stores. Look it up

Hang in there, you've got this. If your legs and feet can take the stress try sprinting for short distances. So, walk at least a half mile to warm up, then Sprint for 50 yards as fast as you can go. Then walk for 100 yards followed by another Sprint. Do this combination 4 or 5 times, then walk to cool off. Not only will you lose weight but you will build muscle. Sprinting is fantastic for your whole body. Good luck.
