SO, this morning around 2am I had an ovarian cyst rupture and the pain was unbearable. I try not to overreact because the pain usually passes (not the first time Ive encountered this issue) but this was the first time it cause me to spot a little. I waited it out until morning. Taking ibuprofen to see if I could get some sleep. Ended up stayin awake until 9am, so I just called into work. Thats what sick days are for I suppose. I've been googling ruptured cysts some and now that I'm into my 40's I just dont know if a hysterectomy would be an answer or if I should just wait out for menopause...which could be 10 years or more away.

I went through surgical menopause at 35 yr old. Had a full hysterectomy from cervix up. Feel free to message me if you have questions that I might be able to answer. Sorry you are dealing with the cysts :,-(.

hysterectomies seem to be good if you've got endometriosis issues.

OUCH! I have been there and it is horrible! I am so sorry you are dealing with that. I had a hysterectomy and I did not regret it because the cysts were interfering with my ability to work and care for my young ones. It is a personal decision that you need to think through and discuss with your doctor. Praying wisdom and comfort for you this morning.

They are horrible. I had a partial hysterectomy when I was 43. I had ovarian cysts for years and 2 large fibroids. My Dr. refused to take my ovaries. I still get them, but not as bad. I do have to say, having a hysterectomy changed my life in a very positive way. I had horribly painful and long periods. Feel better. The pain can be unbearable.

I feel you. Had one burst in 2008, nearly drove off the road. Came to find out 4 years later at infertility specialist visit the bursted cysts had pushed my ovary to the backside of my body. Something quite bizarre 😳 Feel better and take care of yourself. I’ve got quite a history with cysts and endometriosis. But us women do what we need to to and keep it moving. Just remember to take care of yourself

I'm sorry you had to endure that pain. I am 54 now but I had a total hysterectomy when I was 37 and I have NEVER regretted it. I was done producing children so that was not a factor and I had PCOS which developed a little uterine cancer. The hysterectomy was not really an option, more of a necessity, but given all I know, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Once the surgery healed, I have been SO much better off without the cycts and all the pain that went with it. Take care, talk to your doctor, get a second opinion, and take care of YOU.

My hysterectomy was the best day of my life, no joke. I had different problems (and was able to keep my ovaries) but no more 10-day periods twice a month was a huge relief.

I’ve had a hysterectomy and I can tell you that it was one of the best things that has ever happened to me! No more fibroid pains, total laparoscopic hysterectomy and I too kept my ovaries!

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. I have a type of endometriosis the is inside the uterin wall. I forget the clinical name of it. And a history of uterine polyps of which I've had two D and C proceedures to remove. My periods are super heavy but only 5 days long and exactly 28 days apart. The past 2 months they are happening 2-3 days earlier and earlier... So something is happening in there. Its like I could feel this one coming for several days. The bad thing is I havent found a gyno since I moved back to Indiana in September. I dread changing doctors. Its such a personal thing, ya know. Cause they see all your business

have had similar issues. the pain was the worst. don't wait, get yourself to a gyno. they've seen it all. nothing to be embarrassed about. your body and health is primary.
