Hey,
Fairly new here. Here is the short version of my complex story. Gastric lap band in 1994, 130lb weight loss. Stable between 160-165 for many, many years. I am 5'10" so I was fairly slim. Lots of excess skin, anemia, hormonal issues, always cold and tired, poor nutrition, moodiness, low sex drive. But I was fairly slim. All I was able to eat for 20 years was chips, cookies, ice cream, juice, salmon, mashed potatoes etc. You get the drift, soft foods. Could not digest or eat meat, fruit or veggies at all.
Gradually I got so sick that I would end up in the hospital a total of 3 times in 10 years. The last time was March 2014; dehydration, vomiting. The usual. Finally found a doc that took me seriously and would fix me up. May 2014 my lap band was removed. It had slid up and had severe scar tissue around it. 6h of surgery and 6 weeks of leave later I returned to work with a 90% functioning stomach.
Here we are June 2018, scale tipping at 205lb. Not ok. Divorce, relocation, stress, hitting 40ties in 2015 and eating away. Yep that did it. Messed up metabolism, stress, infertility. All of it. In Jan 2018 I began exercising and stopped eating meat and chicken in Feb 2018. I have not lost any weight but feel better. Less anxiety and depression. Less moodiness. Sleep much better. Tons of energy. Non scale victories. Bigger booty. But damn some of this weight HAS to come off. So I am trying fat secret and so far I like it better than MFP. I'll continue to work out 3-6 times a week, that's totally under control. Now I will focus of feeding my body enough calories and balancing my macros. There are no short cuts. This is my life. I want to have a good relationship with food. Be kinder to myself. Starve less. Eat more. Understand it all. Understand me. Why do I overeat? What are my triggers?
