Happy thought of the day: Recovered from hangover. Got up early to get my exercise as planned, did the treadmill for 40 minutes and then just 20 minutes of a pilates dvd that has 10 minute workouts; did upper body and flexabiltiy today. I really think the only way I am going to fit exercise into my busy holiday days is to get up early and get it done before Breakfast. I might do this all year long, it just seems easier to me now, but that is the NEW me because the OLD me would never get up early to exercise!! Go fishing maybe but not exercise!

I haven't weighed in yet but only because I seem to get busy and forget to weigh in until its too late in the day. I will try to remember to weigh in tomorrow morning.

Went shopping and got ALL shopping done for holidays including groceries. I have a few small gifts to wrap but nothing pressing. Everything is smooth sailing from here on!! All the hard work is done. Cooking is the fun part, not a problem and my kids like to help me in the kitchen. They think cooking with me is fun... probably because of the mimosa's :) we drink while cooking holiday food in the mornings.

I received packages from ImLuuvd and her hubby today. They are so beautifully wrapped with big glittery bows and red berries tied to them... they match my house colors and decor too! I dont even care whats inside them, I might leave them wrapped until new years day when I take down the tree !! hehehe

LOL...well, I have a feeling the paper and ribbon is more valuable than the gifts inside so go ahead and leave them wrapped. Just teasing ya mom.I did buy the gold glitter wrapping paper just for you though. So when there's gold glitter you have to keep picking up in your house for the next year, you'll think of me! And you Do make cooking fun, no one else I've met comes close.

Oooh, maybe I should try your method of cooking! The results may not be pretty but it would be fun! I like your idea of exercising in the morning. I hope that works out for you. Go New You!

I like to have wine while I cook ala Pascali, do you remember him. He had a cooking show on PBS years ago and always had a coffee cup of wine that he drank as he cooked. I too find it so much easier to exercise in the morning. If I wait, I don't want to get sweaty, my hair is already fixed, excuses, excuses....

I'm glad you have recooperated from the morning-after-the-night-before! Isn't the aesthetic appeal of Christmas just the best! I like looking at the pretty packages after they are wrapped. I arrange them, rearrange them, and make designs beneath the tree. Let's enjoy the rest of the "cruise" through the holidays!

I love your cooking strategy! Kind of like the old show, The Galloping Gourmet (hopefully I'm not the only one who remembers Graham Kerr guzzling the bottles of wine during every episode). Why not take pictures of the pretty packages so you can enjoy how pretty they look after you've opened them up? Great job getting back on track with the exercise. I need to follow your lead!

thanks everyone... I do remember the Galloping Gourmet and Pascali's cup. I actually have a framed print in my kitchen of a chef and it says "Will work for wine". I suppose it might give someone the idea we had a drinking problem around here... but in actuallity its like chocolate. We love it, enjoy it but we are careful not to indulge too often. Holidays and family gatherings are always an exception although we still watch our consumption. My two daughter's Imluuvd and Brittney were cooking with me one year and we were having coffe with Kahula while we were in the kitchen cooking and having a good time.. then a guest arrived that started drinking kahula on the rocks and drank the bottle dry in no time. That was just one person.. but that bottle would have lasted the three of us a long time. I did go buy a new bottle for this year.. can't decide on coffee with kahula or mimosa's.
