I know being part of a weight loss challenge has helped motivate me.

A trial membership - what a perfect time to check it out. And I learned the hard way about the work out gear - go cheap and (big, baggy) comfortable - it is so hard to try to exercise and hold your tummy in at the same time.

Do it...that's the only time you have to fit a workout in is over lunch. And that is what is working for me, doing my workout at lunch time. And if you workout during your work time, you won't feel guilty when you go home...you'll have done the exercise thing and can spend time with your little man and daughter (and the jealous cow in the barn!!!).

Do it! $30 for 6 weeks is a good deal. Just make yourself go, wear headphones with an mp3 player and zone out the rest of the beefcakes. They indimidate me too. But I so buy a CUTE workout outfit. Something you feel good in. I feel lots better in my cute fitted black capris and colorful dry-fit shirts than I do in my old man gym shorts novelty t-shirts. Look the part & act the part.

I say go for it. If you are like me - you want to get your money's worth. So if I' spend money on a gym, I'm damn sure going to go! The intimidating people really arent. They are just getting their workout on and are always happy to help out anyone who asks. They are normal people that get slapped in the face when they try to work out at home too. :)

I got some good workout pants at Walmart (Danskin Now yoga pants - maybe $15?). I started out with a large, but later got a medium because the large got where it was too big. I just wear them and a t-shirt when I go. That's about as "workout clothes" as I'm going to get. I need to get back into going to the gym (which is around the corner from my work and costs just $10/month - seems good, but I might go more often if it cost more). I urge you to do it. You're a winner no matter what happens with the contest.

I agree that you should do it if that is the best time of day for you to exercise. Personally, I could not workout during my work day because there is not enough time for me to clean up afterwards and get back to work. As for workout clothes, get something comfortable and inexpensive because when you shrink you will have to replace them. :)

I wouldn't go with baggier pants... When I do anything more than walking on the treadmill I have to try and hold mine up since mine are now loose and comfy. I wear a regular t-shirt so its not getting in my way either

DO IT!!!! I was petrified when I started and although I am slowing working on getting the guts to hit the freeweight floor, I can do cardio without a care. Just plug into the music and focus on that. Now I prop up my npook and the time flies and I rarely notice anyone lol.

And I got my gyn clothes at Walmart too. Just be sure to get the dry weave or whatever shirts. I never wore a reg t-shirt to the gym again lol. Paid something like 8.00 for shirts and 15.00 for yoga pants.
