What if I do NOT stop the diet?
I have something on my mind & I know ya'll will have some great answers...
I haven't started a diet, I've changed how I eat and how I think about food. I'll still slip around and have something sinful from time to time but for the most part, I'm really happy eating this new healthier way. And obviously it is working because I've lost almost all I set out to lose.
Now that I'm really close, I wonder what happens if I do NOT stop eating this way?
Will I eventually find my "natural" weight? In other words, will I continue to lose for a while and then just stop suddenly?
I'm eating clean, whole, healthy foods - I'm nourishing my body. What happens if I just continue on this way?
I'm curious and interested in your comments!

I am in a slup and fell off the wagon......
Venting here is a GOOD thing! You're putting your stress & emotion into something that's NOT eating!
I took a look at your goal: that will be some swesome achievement! Do you think it would help to break that down into several short term goals? If you hit your slump at 20, maybe you should reset your Goal Weight to go down by another 20...then when you hit it, you've got that sense of accomplishment to bounce you into the next 20, or whatever your next short term goal happens to be!
Whatever you do, don't quit on yourself! You can do this, you just need to regroup! Good luck!

Raw Fruits & Veggies, Chicken & Tuna
My goal is under 12%. Most days I'm at 7 or 8% and that's "healthy" fat from oats or chicken breast.
Then again, I do have those meals like last night where I eat a week's worth of fat in one meal! Just try to not do that hardly at all!!

Raw Fruits & Veggies, Chicken & Tuna
I'm looking for people who are working toward the same goals and getting there by the same means. I'm working my diet with raw fruits & veggies as the base, chicken or tuna, or VERY lean pork or beef (a treat really) and nonfat milk & yogurt as my protein source, and as little fat as possible.
I'm sure there are others out there who are eating this way and I'd like for us to be Buddies! I am interested in sharing thoughts, ideas & success stories with you!

Protein, Carbs, Fat Ratio
I'm with etyls on this one: low fat, good protein, carbs being whatever is left. I try to keep fat under 10%, protein between 20-25%. I do fruit & veggies, nonfat dairy, chicken & tuna for the most part. My weight is coming off slow but it's coming off and, up till a couple weeks ago, I was losing inches at almost the same rate as pounds.
But I agree with several others: you have to find what works for YOU! My job consists of a LOT of mental work & mental stress. While it may be true that your BODY to live off low carb, your brain cannot. Your brain cells need two times more energy than the other cells in your body and the only energy the brain uses is glucose. Neurons can't store glucose, there has to be a constant supply from the brain and that's where your complex carbohydrates come in.
So a low fat diet high in complex carbs works for me. Atkins works great for some people...I wouldn't be able to make it for 3 days! It's a very personal choice.
