57 yr old mom of two girls and one son, and grandmom of 5 grandsons, I have had a very active work history, till I had a heart attack 4 yrs ago, was caused by uncontrollable high cholesterol. Started a walking vigil every day after I was released from the hospital. I also decided to come out smoke-free. As I have tried much time to stop smoking. Still smoke-free. I also acquired an on the job injury 5 yrs ago. So now on top of a newly diagnosed diabetic, I have chronic pain and I am limited to an hour of active exercise which suits me fine. I have a membership to the YMCA, and always work my way to the waters. lol, altho now I am searching for a new swimsuit because the old one got much swag to it now and really hangs down to my ankles. And that is the reason for a new suit. When I was first told I am a diabetic I was so stressed out that I told my Dr that I want the weight loss surgery. I was three months into that when my niece was sharing her surgery pic with me and she was miserable and everything she went through made me change my mind. So I was seen by a dietician and learned many things about what to watch for as long as I kept my carb intake between 30-35 per meal. 15 for a snack. So far so good, and I also put in a 15 min walk with my puppy every evening.
