LadyinDenim's Journal, 31 May 2016

I had a slice of cheese last night, hoping I could get things moving. I don't feel constipated, but I haven't had a BM since the 26th. I am eating less volume for sure. Oh, well. I'm not going to worry about it.

I removed the ticker from my signature because it wasn't updating. Maybe it broke when I kept trying to enter my weight to the challenge, which is broken and useless. Will give the ticker another try, but I am done with challenges.

Thank you, FS folk. Beans were effective.

cheese and dairy usually blocks BMs even more. Try eating more legumes :^)

Cheese constipated me. Salad helps.

Sugar alcohols like erythriol usually keep thing cleared out for me. From reports I've read, maltitol is a guaranteed door buster! It's in Russel Stover sugar free candies....

I'll include pinto beans today. Thanks for the suggestions :)

hot liquid and then ice cold works for me..

My suggestion is to get some magnesium tablets and take three every night. They relax us and seem to help with the BMs.

Agree with wannabe - drink that fast as you can first thing in the morning.

I just wonder WHY it's a problem? I am used to an effortless BM every morning after my first cup of coffee. I was eating 5 - 6 PB sandwiches a day, potato chips, fruit gummies, sugar sandwiches, root beer (all organic and/or non GMO.) Decided to go SF and come here. Oil, sugar and processed flour are down. Veg is up, water is up. I really don't get it.

I usually equate it to my body being a selfish bratty jerk and trying to trick me into going back to eating like crap! After a couple weeks of being on track diet wise my pipes usually start working right again.

I see. My body is angling for some medicinal chocolate. Hm. Nope!

I'm lactose intolerant-something I keep trying to deny since I love dairy so much. A nice cup of hot cocoa will keep me in the bathroom all day.

Me, too, which has is why I tried cheese. I suspect Christine is right. I made a radical change overnight. The first three days were diarrhea and now, nothing. I bet it has something to do with the gut bacteria changing. I'll ride it out.

Yes, that's probably it (gut bacteria changing). Just keep up with your fluids and it will sort itself out.

I use a magnesium/potassium/calcium drink(powder) called CALM from the health food store.. It's fizzy, I drink it warm before bedtime and (bonus) it keeps any leg cramps away! Magnesium is known to alleviate constipation. My ticker wouldn't update either, but I have had no problems with the challenges...

I learned today we have POUNDS of bacteria in our large intestine. The sugar beasts probably died out and may have accounted for part of my initial weight loss. That being the case, I should gain an equal amount back in "better bugs."

Good for you, Becca! I don't know why the challenges work for some and not others. I have a hard time with supplements. I buy them, use them a couple days, then they just sit there. I've have Noni juice and cod liver oil sitting in my fridge forever.

Maybe having a magnesium supplement on hand for just those times you need it... :)Noni Juice...yeck!! ;) ;)
