It used to be for it's for health. I'm 55 and have studied healthy lifestyles for most of my life. I believe I know enough to get myself on my way, right? :) Seriously though, I have been active and know how to be again. I know what clean eating is and I need to apply it like I mean it. Not surprisingly I have developed structural health problems and now my journey has become a bit more difficult. However, I have a loving husband of 34 years, live in a clean open area where I can grow some of my own fresh food and I'm a happy camper most of the time. Have 1 son, a new DIL and a new grandson. Very excited about that!! We are down in numbers of animals at this time in our lives, just 3 beloved cats. Most importantly, I love God and He loves me. My bio in a nut shell :)

Hi Cathie, the colored bar represents where you are in your % of weight loss for your set goal. It goes in 25% increments. You might see someone with a green colored bar...meaning they are 75% in their goal. Some folks set small, more easily attainable goals to start with, reaching their blue, 100% goal more quickly, then reset to a another goal and start going through the different colors all over again. Did this help?

Low Carb Diet, ugg how do i get there!!
Hope my 2 cents worth helps...Cauliflower is my go to vegi, 1-2x daily. Asparagus, lettuce and broccoli also. I like putting my choices into a bowl...6 0z protein (chicken, salmon, shrimp, bison) 100grams of vegi, 1 Tablespoon coconut oil, 1 Tablespoon grassfed butter. The bowl keeps the juices and oils on the food, not spreading out over the plate! Smile Sometimes I add a scrambled egg to the mix and some seasonings...dill, thyme etc. As much as I love onions, they are pretty high in carbs so I use them pretty sparingly. A chocolate/almond butter fatbomb is my dessert...yum! My weight loss has slowed down but this way of eating seems to be doable for me long term...Have fun Smile

Learning to eat low-carb
You know that old saying "sounds too good to be true... " I did track down cranberry juice with those miraculous stats, and alas it is Diet, and sweetened with sucralose, an artificial sweetener. I swear it's a conspiracy to trick us at every turn!! Smile Sucralose has fallen into that undesirable category, I personally break out into a particularly itchy rash when I accidentally consume any of it. There is much research out there on the cons of artificial sweeteners, google is your friend here. Stevia works alright for me even though I am not crazy about the taste. Keeps me on the straight and narrow, I guess Smile
