Katsolo's Journal, 24 November 2021

This is fun, I toggled it to "athlete" mode and increased my muscle by 10# overnight. Reality is probably somewhere between the two. I'll have to see if I can change it back. In the meantime, if you need any furniture moved, I'm here for you.

Puppy class last night, last one of the year. I think I put down that I'm working a half day today, will do that anyways because all the people who are here want stuff now which is getting in the way of me getting all the nonsense stuff done.

I'm going to put this out there for the ones that need it. This time of year is always harder for me. It's not the holidays or missing people, but these short days and long nights really affect me. I'm not depressed, but I come home after whatever - last night it was class until 8PM, I fed everyone and I crashed on the couch and fell asleep. Deep sleep. Got up at midnight, went to bed, woke up at the normal time. That gives me 11 hours and not enough steps. I didn't have any troubles sleeping, in fact, the watch says I didn't even get up to use the bathroom, but I sleep a lot more when it's dark and cold. Obviously, an Alaskan winter is not an option for me. I have to stay mindful, use my tracker to close those rings no matter what. Thankfully, I have dogs that will make me nuts without exercise and we all have one another to push, cheer or beat with a metaphorical short stick as needed.

So heads up, chins up, engage the brain and stay ahead of things. You're not the only one. Move it, move it, move it!

So you are going to beat us up to the top of the hill --- good good - since I barely have the energy to beat an egg. We must be closer to the top of the hill since - I am seeing more and more snow pictures. ARE WE THERE YET ???

How about we start with you just lifting things in and out of the oven. I use to love cooking, but the slicing dicing mixing and putting heavy things in and out of the oven makes it less heavenly. Is it acceptable to put all the prep dishes on the floor and let my malinois do the dishes? I thing my initial setting were the most deadbeat possible and lol lowered my height to make the calculator come closer to my alway cold body (?) burn. I was entertained by the thought of bumping up to athletic. Nope only cold storage here. But give me three more months and I may turn from a freezer to a refrigerator. Ok oven is beeping - key lime pie is coming out - my exercise for the day 🏃‍♀️

J-are you on the west coast? Spring delivery is possible and I made it with monk fruit sugar so should be lower carb. Tasted great going in the oven.

I hear you, Kat! It's my first winter in the northern hemisphere after 16 years away so it will be the one I want to tackle head on and set a precident for the future and keeping active throughout. I do love to sleep and can almost do it at an olympic level too, but if we plan and prioritise - as you say - we'll get it done. So few daylight hours these days, but I will try to keep moving too! We can do it!!! 👍💕

Katsolo I need our aquarium moved, does that count?😁 We live in California, I don’t know how’d you survive other states? It is getting cold at night yes, but warmer than most states, Idaho is 31F today. Yes, it’s getting darker longer, that I always loved, as I could come in sooner and stop outside chores, but now in my old age, I don’t like driving at night, no problem doing it, just don’t like it, so that’s a bummer!🙃. I am happy you’re sleeping well, we all need to. My granddad always used to say, “There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.”😆

Ha, look what happens when I step away from the computer early. It is uggs weather down here, 56 in my bedroom when I woke up. Oven will be the heater today. I have moved an aquarium previously, we removed the fish and the water. Much easier. I only travel with all expenses paid I decided to keep my gains until tomorrow more fun this way, especially with a large bird in the oven 😉
