Steadily losing 👍 Yesterday I was 164.
Yesterday I did squats and I did front squats. I can not get my elbows up on the front squat. My modality is crap or my forearms are too long or something so I did them with my arms crossed. I didn’t want to do them that way because the bar rests on my tattoo and that isn’t going to help me transition to the clean and jerk. I have to be able to get my elbows up to be able to execute the clean and jerk I guess I’m just going to have to take it slow and try to find a way. Today ill be working on upper body and then I have to go to the dentist 😓 not thrilled

In other news I found out unofficially that our store will be closing in May/ June. Corporate is apparently waiting to tell us in February/March. I am beyond stressed out. I really don’t know what is going to happen with my job. There is a good possibility that I’ll be transferred to another Office Depot. 2 problems with that: 1. The closest one that is hiring is 25 miles away and 2. I am barely trained. I was training for both positions (Customer service and Operations) my first month and then it was busy back to school season so we planned to start to train me again in October. Then he got fired so that never happened. I know most everything I need to know except how to sell services (I am not a natural salesman) 😰 Which is a super important part of our sales. They may decide I’m not fit and fire me or demote me. I make just barely enough to afford my rent each month. I can’t afford to take a demotion 😓 But as I mentioned before I make a few dollars more an hour than every other customer service job I see hiring.
Right now, I’m trying my hardest to be perfect! But my other managers have given up and I am basically completing their tasks before I get started with my own 😰😰😰
I’m trying not to freak out about it. Looks like I need to make that resume I was planning on ASAP

You will be fine. You have overcome much tougher situations. The current job market is actually good (in most places). I see *better* things for you!

That’s terrible about the store closing. Hopefully you will find something even better! I know that’s so frustrating for you. Good luck, I’ll be thinking about you.

Have faith in yourself, this may end up being an opportunity. You are motivated and a hard worker, and that's what every employer wants.

Thanks guys ❤️❤️ I am trying to stay focused on what I can control instead of what I can’t. The last thing I need is to get buried in depression 😐

I hope it all works out for you. Remember to hold your head up high, look them in the eye and show them you have confidence in your abilities. Best of luck!

Sorry to hear about that. You have lots of time here to look around

Your last comment is really wise, CD! It can't be easy for a single Mom but staying positive and focused on your strong qualities will go far. And thanks for posting the Front Squat photo. It's helpful to see the proper form in this way. Lol.

I lost my main source of income the end of September. I own a cleaning business and it was the largest contract I held for almost 12 years. It was devastating! I know how you feel, but at least you have time!! I had 2 weeks notice. And it’s been a struggle ever since cause I’ve yet to replace that chunk. So I’m becoming a minimalist in all things bought! Even in the food department. It sucks! I buy a lot less fruits, veg, meats, less of everything, the basic NEEDS! But at the same time, we manage and so will you Dawnie! I never knew how I’d make ends meet but it’s surprising how we spend on things we do not need. This experience has taught me wiser spending, careful choosing and a strong mind. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. You WILL be ok!! ❤️🙏👍🏻 And so will I!!

Sounds like customer service or management is the best thing for someone who is not good at sales! I am the same way, I worked retail many years, and was better at the administration than sales. I am not a pushy person and I think you have to be that way in sales. Good luck Dawnie, you are a definitely doing great on the diet/exercise front!

Think different about sales, it isn't about pushy, it's about finding a solution for a problem and just being ok to hear no. You can do it and it is a really good transferable skill that can make you a lot of money. Connect with your customers. You can do it - you are a strong woman. I see that in all of your posts and your hard work Xx

Sorry for the additional stress for a busy mom. I am inclined toward adef’s thinking: this could be something better pushing into your life. Polish up that resume and stay positive. In the meantime, Rock639 makes a good point about sales, at least in the retail store environment. Talking with and helping people is enjoyable. But sometimes it is a struggle to talk to enough people to make quotas. Which leads some people to be pushy, especially if upper level managers expect it. I enjoyed retail sales, and did not care for cold call sales.

Best of luck to you on the job front. I'll be praying for you. :)

Thank you all for the advice and words of encouragement! Deeply appreciate it ❤️🙏🏻 I fought the urge to binge eat cookies last night. I ate a few hundred calories worth and stoped there. I was way below calories so it’s all good. I unfortunately fell asleep at 7:30 so I missed my last protein shake of the day and ended up waking up at 3 am lol I really needed that extra sleep but I just hope I’ll be able to get a lill nap before work. At the gym now 🙂

I’m sorry Dawnie. That’s stressful friend. When one door closes another one opens and you are a hard worker. You will come out on top 😘 nice drop girlie 💜💚

Dawnie, Wifey9707 — you do not have to eliminate healthier foods like fruits and vegetables, this is where you concentrate on recipe development for foods that are easily available and cost effective. Portion control is a great way to help cut the grocery bill. Not all foods that you eat have to be “organic”, “grass fed”, blah, blah. Great if you can afford it but if not do a little research and see which food items are at greatest risk. We are with you— many of us, including me have had incredibly devastating hard times in our past and lived to tell the story. We are rooting for you. Let us know how you are doing. Moral support helps.

You are in my prayer intentions. RM and I pray for financial security and employment every day, so you will definitely be in there. Dawnie, sometimes farmer's markets have great veggie and fruit prices. I am on a SEVERE budget and find lots of fresh stuff at one near me. I buy bulk chicken and beef, weigh it, and bag it in the freezer. Helps on costs. Praying for the best for you and your family. :0)

I am so sorry, Dawnie, that you have so many stresses. Like others have said, you seem like one heck of a lady and will sort things out. Tough times make you stronger, the the process is so frustrating and scary. Hugs ❤️

🙏🏻 Thanks guys! Luckily I like change. But it’s scary that I might lose the best paying job I’ve ever had 🙁

@CrashtestDawnie - Your situation came to my mind this morning. A few thoughts... (1) I have 'known' you for *years* now and watched you go through stuff like this and come out better (2) You qualify for unemployment (3) Interviewing when your last job ended because of a 'store closing' makes employers feel they are in a position to 'benefit' from the other store's loss. Like getting valuable merchandise at a 'going out of business sale' - - Anyway you will be fine. Employment uncertainties are what motivated me to go back and finish college at 34 years of age. That decision is why I have my current job...

Thanks Adef! You know I completely forgot about unemployment! Also I need to go back to school 😣 I have my associates in education but then dropped out when I was being harassed by my ex husband. That was 3 years ago 😳 I’m going to have to completely re-learn algebra 🤯😭 lol
