Can you limit yourself with chocolate? Try a quality piece of dark chocolate (70%) or higher. Eat just one square or two, if you've saved enough calories. Works for me.

I can definitely say, for myself, in order to get my cravings under control, I had to do a refined sugar cleanse. Basically, I removed all sugar drinks, snacks etc and if I had a crazy craving, I “binged” on 5 apples, 1/2 pound of grapes, etc

Herbal tea really helped me out this last holiday season, something that has some natural sweetness to it without adding in anything. Bengal spice is my go to, the cinnamon is naturally sweet and it's like drinking a hug (plus it fills up the belly). Someone had posted an image about making herbal tea in the fridge in a Mason jar, I haven't tried it yet, but it is on my list for this summer.

Yes, go to bed really early. You will get up earlier and be more productive:)

I tell myself, "If you eat that junk before bed, you will be so mad at yourself." You will wake up in the morning and not be afraid to weigh in. It is alot of work trying to be good all day and why wreck it for a stupid snack before bed..

I've heard that taking a glutamine supplement helps curb sugar and alcohol cravings -- or maybe it was glucosamine. I can't recall off hand, but if you Google the benefits of both supplements, you'll find it listed for one of them.

glutamine. https://www.weightandwellness.com/resources/articles-and-videos/l-glutamine-deficiency-signs-supplement-benefits/ take everything you read online with a grain of salt of course, and regardless of how true something may be in the general sense, your mileage will always vary

Decaf hot tea with Splenda!!! They have tons of yummy types and I drink all I want...it gives me that snacking feeling because I'm raising something up to my mouth over and over (kind of like a smoker replaces a cigarette with suckers I've heard to do the same)...and the warm fluid fills your stomach and makes you feel full too...plus the flavor can be sweet! I like celestial apple cinnamon

brushing your teeth after every meal helps. I brush them a little much, but yeah. also ween slowly from late eating to early eating. your body will tell you "no im gunna eat everything!" if you dont slowly ween off. lost 15 lbs so far like this. I dont eat after 5pm now. Sometimes a yogurt or 12 Doritos but nothing more.

I had to quit smoking too. The crave for a ciggarette and the after effect is" lemne eat something real quick" half a bag of barbeque chips later...

I ordered from the Cereal School who sells fruit tasting cereal (like fruit loops taste) and also cinnamon taste cereal. I eat it dry as a snack and a serving is just 1 carb.

this is the bane of my existence... some great suggestions above and while I don't have the answer I try and have a big dinner and cup of tea and that's it

I also brush my teeth at 7pm. that's my food cutoff time, and I'm pretty lazy and don't want to brush them again before bed. I've also tried to focus on that nice feeling of going to bed empty, instead of that miserable feeling of going to bed full. stay strong.

Not eating at night is a total appetite suppressant for me the next day. I end up eating in an 8 hour window and I am not hungry in the morning. This is where a weight loss must start for me but it takes me some time. I usually eat fruits or vegetables at first to try to kick the habit of eating foods that are not good for me. I keep trying until I succeed. Eventually I get rid of the fruits and the vegetables. The only way that I could get rid of sugar cravings was to take it completely out of my daily diet. I do eat fruits, I am talking about deserts or added sugar. I rarely crave it and I still do eat desserts or some sugar snack but rarely. I still can't portion control it when I eat though.

Mine never leave but they become more manageable

If I'm sure I'm hungry and not just bored, tired or thirsty I eat. The caloric content is the same after 7 as before. I'm a very light eater during the day. I have the room in the evening if I need it.

Thanks everybody ! Those are all such great suggestions I'm away for the next week. But I'm going to try tea after 7 and also going to bed early !
