adamevegod1's Journal, 02 January 2019

I've been avoiding this over the past few days. I haven't worked out since Dec 21 due to my injury. Additionally, since I think I've developed a slight depression over my injury, loss of control, and the unknown I've eaten anything and everything like is was my last meal. In five years I've never strayed this far this long, even when I had a difficult rotator cuff repair that didn't go well I've stayed the course. Nevertheless, now I think I've got my mind right and back on track. I've sworn off simply carbs and any cheat days for 8 weeks. (BTW, I hate cheat days for addictions; it's like a drunk celebrating sobriety with a shot.) I'm currently 167.2 which is 12.2 lbs over where I desire to be. This year has been a loss for me, albeit not a total loss. For those of you who have nothing but harsh words, scroll on. I'm not looking for empathy, sympathy, just using this as an avenue to help keep me accountable. May 2019 be all of our's best year--health to you.
167.2 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 12.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 2.5 lb a week

I have your back brother. Let the truth resonate and empower you in His Name. He is Faithful. Reset. Center. Give it up to Him to move you forward in health. Don’t forget there are always going to be setbacks. It’s how you recover that matters.

when i had my minor back injury if put me off for awhile so I focus on my eating. when dr couldn't understand and a couple months went by i said screw this lol im going to start back with light exercising..dont you know a month later from light exercising my back was almost all better!!!! so hang in there. i understand how you feel and it sucks. focus on healthy eating! its better than letting yourself go. hope you recover well and soon. happy new year's !

Thanks erink78, I think what has exasperated this for me is that this is the second injury to the same spot this year, and both have sidelined me. One was an impact to the lower spine, and this one was due to overload while unhitching my trailer from my truck with too much weight on the tongue. But I bet I follow along the lines of your advice.

Thanks chrisw77, I've already started to turn my stinking thinking around, and pouring it into a more positive direction.

Hey aeg1, i know this must be super frustrating for you, especially since you were finally healed from March and ready to hit the ground running. All i can say is go easy on yourself and be kind to yourself. Let your bod do what it needs to heal. Drink your fluids and rest too.

No biggie AEG...hope you have a speedy recovery and 2019 goes much smoother. A wise friend suggested biking to me for a low impact workout when I was recovering from a herniated dusk 2.5 years ago...it worked for me, unfortunately now I've got a bad "bike habit".

Hi adamevegod. I've for some reason not been seeing your posts in a long while. Sorry to hear how things have been going down hill for you😢 Normally you are the one cheering me on so my turn now . You will overcome this! You will get back to where you were and want to be! We all stumble and we all recover ( I take longer than most😂) I'm more off the horse than on it lately but we can do this! Sending you positive vibes and big Welsh cwtchies. ❤
