3/2018 My name is Jo. My husband calls me his little sexy girl. LSG. 4/17 is our anniversary.

Never really had serious weight issues until my early 40's. I was widowed at age 43 and had been extremely fit and healthy. Grief took its toll. Was raising my two sons alone, decided to go back to school. More bad habits! Fell in love with a man who had been my friend for years, he lived 2 1/2 hours away. Constant traveling added more weight. Tried to lose weight for our wedding, almost 2 years ago. Lost about 10 pounds, but it came back as soon as I started my summer semester at school. Finally got fed up last Dec. I topped out at 163 pounds. I weighed 160 when I gave birth to my first son. Doing my best to get back to a healthy weight for me, so I can hopefully be around long enough to see grandchildren. And hopefully have many more happy years with a man that I love dearly and makes me extremely happy.

4/2018 I've been doing my own diet thing from the beginning, but I tried a LCHF for a bit, not Keto low, but much lower than usual for me. I dropped a few pounds quickly, but then plateaued quickly, maybe because I don't have that much weight to lose or possibly because I became constipated due to lack of fiber. I've also considered that I was consuming too few calories. I started eating more grains this past week (4-1-18) and increased my calories by approx 200 p/day. I gained a pound for a few days, but lost that and an additional 2 already (4-7-18). We each have to find what works for us and realize that there is no "one-size-fits-all" when it comes to weight loss.
