Day 1 of a planned 1 day 'no solid food fast'

πŸ‘ŽπŸΎ Yesterday, I planned to break my 5 day fast at 5:00pm, and at 5:00pm I had to get gas on the way home from work. I found a box of lemonheads (20 carbs 90 calories) and ate it. Then at the gas station I got a beef jerky. Months ago beef jerky after a no solid food fast made me sick and this time it did again (stomach ache).

πŸ‘ŽπŸΎ When I got home I started scarfing down all the low carb chips and snacks I could find (we literally have nothing else in our house since we are both on low carb). Dinner was two beef pattties, but, I STILL had my πŸ₯› protein shake before bed.

So, yeah gaining only one pound is good considering I went on a 'carb binge'. 40 carbs and 1600 calories will make me gain weight. In my case, I simply do not need to consume as many calories as the 'guidelines' say. As a man who has been obese ALL my adult life (but, no longer is), I flat out reject any guideline that says I need to eat more. My 'metabolism' is what it is (and what it ALWAYS has been, why do you think I was ALWAYS fat?). If I have a 'slow' metabolism, perhaps I can 'just-stop-eating-so-much' 😎

πŸ§˜πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ WHY is a 'slow metabolism' so bad anyway? Life is a journey towards 'death' moving at the speed of my metabolism, why am I in a hurry? I have a friend at work who barely eats. He has a very 'slow metabolism', but, he can jump rope for an hour strait and do pull ups. He-is-72-years-old!

πŸƒπŸΎ Today, I plan to exercise a lot, drink only protein shakes all day.

I am sorry you had a carb munchie attack you have been doing so good! But the one pound is nothing and it will come off quick enough. you don't need to focus so much on weight any more it is body shape you need to focus on. Scales make us crazy. I generally bounce a few points eating well and no carbs. water weight we have no control over. 1600 calories for the day is nothing on your activity level. please don't worry so much. focus on the goal, low carb and building a lean mean body

@baskington - Yes you're right this 'pound' is just 'water moving up and down'. I'm gonna hit the gym and run today to continue to 'work on building my body' :)

Oh, I LOVE lemonheads - I have an unopened box in the frig that's been there for months - it is waiting for the day I pull it out and enjoy them! Have a good fast day and a great weekend!!!!

you should consider looking at a 4 day split routine. will definitely start to shape your body. their is as much science behind shaping your body as their is in the diet you need to fuel it. training right will increase dramatically the time it takes to see results. do the major muscles groups at least once a week with afew days break before hitting them again to allow growth. running in the gym will do little to get the results I think you want. no amount of running will shape your chest for instance

@keith george cooke - The running is just to distract me from eating :) It actually is counterproductive to my lifting :(

@nikeit - Unfortunately the Lemonheads were old, dark yellow, and hard :( Not the bright yellow with the semisoft outer shell. Oh well, I am going to allow myself one more box in late November maybe December. A 20 carb hit is hard to take...

Those yummy lill lemon heads hooked you! Atleast your snack attack was still considered lower carb. It seems likedamagr from healthier cheats are easier to undo. I was convinced my body was only burning 900 calories (with my fit bit hr telling be I was burning 2800 calories(average day/ no gym)). I think it has actually improved. By about 200.
