You'll probably be fine. I weigh myself daily but would like to just do it weekly. Just for a test I weighed myself before drinking any water. Then I weighed myself after drinking 4 12 ounce glasses of water over a couple of hours. I was exactly 3 pounds more than before the water. I know 16 ounces equals a pound. So if I retain any water, the scale will show a gain.

The first weigh may have been on a day that you were not retaining fluid. It is possible something you ate made you retain extra fluid on the day you weighed after drinking the wine. Give it time to process. I have weighed before, stepped off the scale and then got back on the scale and weighed a half pound more than I did a second ago. I have also ate terribly (doughnut , cake and ice cream in a 30 minute time frame) and some how lost a pound the next day. Your body takes time to process what is put into it. Some foods take longer to process than others. Weigh in the morning before you eat or drink anything with the same clothing. If you weigh more than once a week anticipate it to be affected by water retention and pay it no attention good or bad.

I’m not sure if my answer is correct but when I did WW they told me not to be alarmed if that happened (gaining for no reason). I am personally going to take what I learned in WW and only weigh once a week. I drove myself crazy weighing everyday. And since my doc is close I might just weigh in their scale. I don’t know if that’s helpful.

It's the alcohol. I've been tempted, but I know it'll send the scale in the wrong direction.

I'm committing the wine to history and any afternoon caffeine. I know my adrenal glands are tired and I'm insulin resistant. I also have hypothyroidism. I've heard that I should both increase and decrease the 20 carbs daily. At this point I am where I was 10 weeks ago!

The alcohol does make a person retain fluid. Good luck. I am getting where I was two years ago so I know how you feel.
