Happy Tuesday everyone!!!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!! I had my nephews 4th birthday party!! My sister made sure that there was plenty of Keto foods for me to eat, including Keto ranch! She is super supportive and really helps me believe in me, believe that I can do this!! Shes my best friend and I would be so very lost without her.

Ive been really kind of disappointed lately with some of the journals and comments that I have been reading here. I know that there are a lot of people, and where there are a lot of people, there are a lot of opinions. Please remember to respect and love each other, even if we do not agree on something. Everyone is on a different journey, and what works on theirs may not be for you. Do not tear them down, make them question, or give them reason to give up. We should be supporting each other, lifting each other up and helping us move forward, no matter where our journey is taking us.

There is a lot of talk about the Keto diet here lately. There is a Netflix documentary called The Magic Pill that talks about it, the trainer from biggest loser was on Steve Harvey talking about it, there are articles about it. Some good, some bad. We all have to research and decide for ourselves what works for us.

My story: I started keto on January 2nd at over 500lbs. I found this side 2 weeks after, I was already down to 498. My most recent weigh in was Sunday the 27th, I weighed in at 424lbs. I have lost over 75lbs on Keto. I tried diets my whole life, cutting calories, pills, shakes, everything I could think of. Nothing worked. The Keto diet has been around since the early 1950s to help control and treat Epilepsy, there are many long term effect studies. This is not a fad diet, a flash in the pan, something that just came about. This is a well researched and well documented way of eating that works for people.

That being said, it WILL NOT WORK FOR EVERYONE!! Everybody needs something different in their lives. What works for me, doesnt work for Joe, Betty, or Susan, but my journey, my successes will help them see that they can do this, no matter what plan they follow. My loving them for who they are, will help them see that people are there for them no matter their size, their diet, their lifestyle. We are here to help each other along, to jump and cheer for the NSV and to support the unexpected gains. Dont judge my diet because it isnt something that you would do, or didnt work for you. Its working for me, and that should be what is important. There are people here who are strict vegans. I am not a vegan, could never be a vegan, but when they post pictures of their foods, I support that, tell them how great they are doing. I dont tear them apart for not putting chicken in it. That doesnt help anyone.

Love each other, support each other, lift each other up. Help each other reach their goals and celebrate with them when they do it! Do not judge a person for their WOE, the diet the follow, or the journey they are on. Love them!!

Great post Hon! You said exactly what I have wanted to say sometimes! 🙆🏻‍♀️Keto is very effective for those with insulin resistance and large amounts of weight to lose, but at leadt for me, I’ve seen that I can back off and go much more veggie based with a moderate carb diet as I approach my goal, or at least that’s what I’m trying! LOL 😆 You have a great day! 🙋🏻

Great post Klynn! I do a keto diet because I am metabolically damaged. My insulin receptors are burned out from years of abuse. Now that I am type II, and a binge eater, I find that Keto works for me. I think others who aren't damaged can follow a diet with more carbs. I wish I could too. I agree with you - we should all support each other's WOE. If someone asks for advise though I think it's ok to talk about your own WOE so the person has something to think about.

@NY_Shelly, of course, if someone asks for advice or asks what works for you, share away! I was just noticing a few recently where someone said they had one WOE and then people would fill their comment section saying they need to follow a CICO WOE or something like that. I am all for sharing ideas and what works for you, just not tearing people apart for saying that they follow one WOE. Its been happening more lately.

WOE isn't the only thing some folks like to rip others about. There was a post that showed up in my feed that was obviously about my having shared about the struggles with my eldest son. Others defended me, I even commented, but all we're deleted and comments turned off. We are all entitled to our opinions. When those opinions are hurtful, we should consider keeping them to ourselves. I needed the support & encouragement from this community. Except for that one, that's what I got. And I appreciate every single one of y'all that support me. We have to do what is right for US, that doesn't mean it's right for everyone. Good post Klynn.

CICO pisses me off almost as much as Starvation Mode. I can talk about how Keto is the best thing ever and some arsehole CICO zealot wants to chime in about how, "in the end it's all CICO", or, "Calories Are King!!1!". I'm just all like, eff off. No, a Keto diet is not in any way, shape, or form a calorie-centered diet. "But thuh science!!11!!". No. Just no. They don't get it, but hard as you may try, some people never will. YOU are doing awesome. Don't worry about the psycho's. :) Keto4Life, maaaan! And if you research The Banting Diet, you will find that Keto has roots about a century further back than you realize!

Aw, hail, I just started watching The Magic Pill on Netflix. Yeah, if a person is consuming a mostly carbohydrate based diet, they may want to find that flick.

Hey, @Klynn, I am very proud of you. As you have gone on your journey, you are becoming a stronger individual in your own right.

Thanks for the great post - you are a success and a great example of how to make a positive change. Everyone is walking their own path - the best we can do is to be as educated as we can be, make good decisions and work toward our goals. If something I do is helpful or can benefit another on their journey then all the better - but I am not going to tell you that you have to do it my way. I wish you continued success on your journey. “If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.” ― Dalai Lama XIV

Wonderful! Wonderful! As previously stated. Your goals are being met both spiritually and physically it seems. Always keep your positive attitude. You have certainly made my day more positive and you have inspired me.

Awesome post, very well stated! I do have a question for the Keto dieters... what resources are you using? I purchased a book entitled, The Keto Diet: The Complete Guide to a High-Fat Diet by Leanne Vogel back in January. It is very informative but had me overwhelmed with info. I am simple. I need the same basic routine for a while then I incorporate new things. I also travel quite frequently for work and need quick solutions while on the road as I have no time for meal prepping. Anywho, are there any simple "laymen's term" type materials that made it easy for you to follow and helped you continue?

Yeah, reminds me of that one quote “Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, you'll be a mile from them, and you'll have their shoes!” Plus if they have expensive shoes you can sell those on ebay! 😁 but ya, you focus on you, and anyone whose got “issues” with how you wanna reach your personal fitness/health related goals, either on FS or otherwise, screw em! Life isn’t a popularity contest. & all of us are on FS the same reason, to better ourselves, so we all should be uplifting each other, after all that’s what this main page community shtuff is for. So you keep moving forward towards your goal! & never look back 👍🏻

I agree and did watch the documentary also, that is what made me make the switch. I also agree that every body has there own "tweaks" to their diets they are following, and have to find what works for them. Good post!
