bg 102mg

My official weight-loss journey started at the age of 1974 with Weight Watchers. Before that my mom simply harangued me about losing 5 or 10 lb. It is uncertain whether I actually needed to lose 5 or 10 lb before the age of 14. She just wanted me to be slimmer. I look at old pictures from my childhood  and wonder, where was the fat?

Mom quit controlling my food in 1976, so now it is on me. I bring this up to tell you that I have been studying what makes up an effective diet since 1974. The Scarsdale worked for me. Then the low-fat high-fiber diet craze took over, and it is still out there. The Atkins worked, until they changed it to be more carb friendly. Now keto is working. For the last 10 years nothing else has worked. I may be losing very, very, very slowly, but I am losing fat!

I have always felt fat, but like you, I look at old pictures and ask? Where’s the fat? 🤷🏻‍♀️And starting hypoglycaemic at a very young age, I have always eaten more protein than carb. More veggie than fruit. Complex over simple carbs. And raw in preference to cooked. LOL 🙋🏻‍♀️

That was my story too. I never got skinny like most small little girls. My mom said I "never lost my baby fat". I went ftom pudgy to voluptuous. By 13 my body looked 18. But, I grew up feeling fat and never felt okay unless I was very thin. I've been 205 and I've been 105. The images we grow up with never leave us. At my old age I still want to look good in clothes. I fight it every day. We have to find that right balance and keep telling ourselves we are perfect Spirit creations. God bless us every one.

LOL Jackie I’ve NEVER been 105! From the time I was about 11 I’ve always had to dress carefully to not be mistaken for a hooker or give the wrong impression. 🤩Volumptuous is A word for it, or hour glass figure. My daughter inherited it and ended up damaging her back in sports like I did because of her chest size. But nowadays they actually gave her a reduction so her back may not develop arthritis in her early 40’s like mine did. 🤷🏻‍♀️I’ve always felt pretty uncomfortable at the attention it draws.
