Have you ever been shamed by someone half your age? Oh, the youngster is ALSO your employee?
Yeah, I got a call about 6PM central time, and my dude asked if I had done my work out. I let him know that I had some pain in my triceps and in my shoulders. He then asked me the following questions:
Does it hurt to go to the bathroom? Does it hurt to drink water from a bottle? Does it hurt to give someone a hug?
When I said no, he said he would call me back in an hour to make sure that my upper body workout was done.... Then he hung up....
Little prick, I hired him to work for me, NOT WORK me! Yeah, when I hired him to be my second, I knew he was a trainer, but I NEVER thought that he would take me on as a project.
In reality, I love the guy, he's keeping me on track regardless of what's going on!
We ALL need a mentor, we ALL need to find someone that will help to keep us accountable.
I just never dreamed that it would be a kid half my age doing it for me....
Damn I'm gonna hurt tomorrow, but I'm gonna love the results,

Due to his prompting, I did 45 rounders with 15# weights, 45 abdips with a 15# weight each side, 45 ab twists with 5# weights in each hand held out horizontally , and 45 push-ups! 6 months ago, no way! I'm loving life right now! I may introduce him to my younger sister! LOL

I love this kid! I came in to work this morning and the first thing he asked was how I was feeling. I moved a bit and grunted... He walked off laughing and then told me he'd call tonight to make sure I did my legs... UGH!

Crazy B - Negative reinforcement never works. I should know, it drove me my current weight. Plus there are trainers out there that are our age (and older). I have a great friend that is close to 60 y/o who is a trainer in our local gym. He knows what our age group is going through with the aches and pains of an older, life abused, body. You should take it low and slow to start. Add reps, not weight. That's how people get hurt, burn out, give up and quit. I wish you luck.

Thanks DS. I started slow for sure, and this kid is like my own. He takes care of me and is truly my biggest "in person" cheerleader.
