Day one of drinking a gallon of water and no soft drinks including diet ones. It's 12:44 and haven't even made it halfway. I hope I can do this. I got this. I know I do. Hope everyone is enjoying this hump day. :)

How about tea? It is basically water that has had some grass soaking in it. Just add some Stevia for a sweetener. [I say as I pour a Coke Zero...]

I am lucky in the fact I have never enjoyed fizzy pop (on its own) but found it surprisingly easy to give up cordials (both sugared and diet) Think not just of your weight but your dental health/your mental mood. Think of the money you will save can by can. Water helps flush out the toxins and keeps you regular and can help with hunger pangs which can sometimes be thirst in disguise. YOU HAVE GOT THIS!

Yeah I thought about it but you know how southern people like their tea lol so I'm just gonna stay away before I put tons of sugar. The water isn't that bad at all. Just trying to get time to drink it is hard.

Thank you. :) I'm excited to reach the finish line of today's gallon. First day will always be toughest but I said why not because so many people at work drink water and I'm over here drinking a diet soda.

You won't miss it after a while. I stopped that yearszzzzzzzzz ago. Water and unsweetened tea now. I use powdered nonfat milk in coffee to the tune of 2 tsp (10 grams). Don't waste your calories on drinks. My one exception is "high fiber V8" -here's a tip: add an ounce of water to it and it tastes like regular V8 and you get more fiber and a food stretch. I measure out 7 ounces and add an ounce of water for an 8 ounce glass...

I use lemon or lime juice...really makes a difference for me.

WHY are you trying to drink a gallon of water per day? Has a physician advised you to do this? The classic "8 glasses" is a half gallon, but is still a bit much, as it's based on a serious misinterpretation of a research paper. Too much water can be a bad thing, diluting and flushing out electrolytes and many of the nutrients we need.

I have a Sodastream and throughout the day, I drink either regular water or fizzy water. It's awesome! And it's fine to drink a whole gallon of water a day, especially when it's hot! Just eat too obviously.

For some reason, drinking with a straw helps me! Also, might wanna do a quick google for a water intake calculator cause how much you need actually depends on your body. :) Good luck!

put frozen lemon in your water. It keeps it from being boring and it's good for you. or you could flavor it with Crystal light our something like that

I'm with you Loeykrause and have seen water poisoning in the flesh, very frightening. Always worth checking this kind of thing first but with you on drinking water over other drinks - something I'm not very good at at all!

Can be dangerous, need to calculate water you need based on weight and activity levels.

I DRINK A GALLON AND HALF OF WATER EACH DAY...I WORK OUT IN THE HOT FLORIDA SUN AND PROBABLY SWEAT IT OUT...WATER IS THE OILD FOR THE BODY AND THE ONLY LIQUID ONE CAN DRINK AND NOT PUT THEIR KIDNEYS AND LIVER TO WORK SIPHONING OUT ALL THE ADDITIVES.

Yes. As for the whole gallon, I won't drink it all. I've only made it a quarter of the way through and haven't had dinner yet so I'm looking at about half a gallon at best. I just wanted to see if I could do it. It does help knowing I have all that water if I need it but working in a freezing office I barely drank any. Thanks for the suppose and concerns. I would never put my body at risk for some "trend". I agree to only drink what you need. :)

I love coke zero I could never drink the nasty plain diet coke I have a quart double lined drinking jar I fill it up with ice and drink water all day water is better with ice also you may try putting your jug of water in the freezer and let it half freeze then it is super cold and slides right down if I am at a restaurant that does not have coke zero I will mix the regular coke with the diet 90% diet 10% regular it takes the nasty diet taste out of it

I am in the same boat as you. Trying to stop drinking energy drinks and soda. what has really helped me has been going to the Sauna for 30 minutes. i easily drink 1 gallon of water.
