So, I've grown out of (shrunk out of?) my black jeans - an item I consider essential in my wardrobe, so I went shopping. When I started on my weight loss journey, I was a 22W (women's -that's plus size), but recently bought 16W. I went to the plus department and tried on 14W and didn't find any that fit right, except one pair of Ralph Lauren's that were $95. , and I refuse to pay that much for a pair of jeans. I meandered across the store to the Misses dept. where I haven't shopped for at least 35 years. I shyly explained my dilemma to the sales clerk who took on the challenge and found a few pairs of 16's for me to try. They all fit! The selection was much better than the plus department. I bought a pair of nice black jeans and a matching black plaid shirt, an XL. I told the clerk that I'd lost a lot of weight and that this was the first time in forever that I'd been able to shop out of the plus department and she very sweetly and enthusiastically congratulated me. I've got a long way to go to goal, but this is certainly a milestone! I left smiling. I'm flying to Minneapolis this weekend to see my daughter and it's nice to have a new outfit to wear!
