Struggling. Eating like crap from stress and everything else. I have 4 close friends who are on Zepbound. I need help and I am looking forward to hopefully getting something soon. It is across the board everyone saying you don't feel hungry, you don't think about eating so you can make healthier choices. Exercise isn't the issue- but the eating is hard for me to regulate. If it's cheating- so be it... I'll pick up a weekend job to pay for it if I have to. That's where I'm at.

It is sort of an Ozempic? It is not cheating as far as I am concerned.

I haven't heard of it. I guess there aren't any singing commercials on whatever I watch on TV. You gotta do what you gotta do.

David’sprincess-the struggle is real. I read your bio and your story could be mine (except for the size 6, age & a couple of other things). I too find myself hilarious! My highest weight was 356 and now 287. I am on Mounjaro (lower dose than Zepbound). It truly has saved my life. I’m finally understanding what it feels like to have a normal relationship with food. I don’t hear the constant chatter of food calling me. I actually don’t crave anything like I used to. I consume food, it doesn’t consume my life. It is not “cheating” to take medication to improve your health and prevent future problems. You would not berate someone for taking blood pressure medication or insulin. Obesity is a disease not something that can be always be overcome by willpower alone. The mental struggle with food is strong. Be kind to yourself. You are beautiful no matter what you weigh.

I started taking semaglutide..the compound of ozempic about a month ago and it down 8 pounds+ I find it helps control my hunger and some days I have to force myself to eat bc I’m just not thinking about food. I went through IvIm health and I believe they are still running a sale on it where it’s $599 for 3 months, so essentially 200 per month, which is the least expensive I’ve seen it

I don't know why I have to be different! I was on Rybelsus (oral Ozempic) for six months and lost no weight. I have been on Mounjaro for three months and I am still always hungry and struggling to lose any weight at all.

It is not cheating. If you need help, get help. Your health is most important.

Sorry you are struggling. I'm there too. It's hard to lose weight in the world we live in with bodies that don't want to be thin. Don't feel guilty if you feel you need a little more help to get there.

Doing what is necessary to take care of yourself is not cheating my friend. It's finding something that works for you. I hope this is it. 💚💛💜

im sorry for the struggles. trying rooting out the root cause of the stress. have a care plan in place foc when you feel stress, you will "xyz" -go outside and take 3 deep breaths -write out what stressing you while drinking a glass of water/tea/wine -play with the dogs -do your makeup/hair/nails the goal is to prioritize your self, self care will destress(self-sooth) you. dissociate food with self-soothing

I struggle with stress eating too. My weight has been up and down especially from the holiday season. Every day is a new day! If you didn’t do so well today, there’s always tomorrow 👍 you can do this. This is YOUR journey

while the Zepbound might help with the cravings, what can you do about your stress levels? besides trying to eat healthier (which can be stressful until you build some better habits) what can you do to lower your stress? are you doing other self care things? prayer/meditation? something fun just for you? spending time with friends? is the stress from setting unrealistic expectations for yourself (I really struggle with this one)?

Sent you a message. I did semeglutide to get me going. I was out of my mind trying to start. I don't think I would have made it without it. It's still hard work but it definitely gets rid of the food noise. Now, I don't need it.

You’re so brave for laying it all out there for everyone to read. So if I offer input that doesn’t resonate, I apologize, but I don’t see what all the hype is about semeglutide. When you stop the injections, doesn’t your hunger resume? Isn’t it just a temporary fix? I think dealing with the stress is a wise suggestion (someone offered that already), and making sure you’re doing the basics: 1. Prioritize protein 2. Eliminate processed food except for rare social occasions and don’t go overboard, 3. Get adequate sleep 4. Focus on healthy food options such as fruits and veggies, lean proteins and healthy carbs to fuel workouts. 5. Deep breathing and meditation I’ve seen your posts before and you know all of the above. Don’t doubt your knowledge and strength…you are so capable of this!!! All of my love and support that you find what works best for you in the coming days and weeks!!

Totally not cheating, just self care.

Sara, i also deal with food noise. I white knuckled it from my 20-40’s and was able to stay at a healthy weight and fitness level but was always having to try and ignore the thing in my head that said chocolate or lays potato chips and cream cheese were so yummy. The 8 years i was obese i would try and often fail and thus would binge . These past 18 months i finally labeled myself a food addict. No different than a drug addict nor an alcoholic. I have voices in my head telling me to eat unhealthy food in unhealthy quantities. I had no idea i was 227 pounds when i had surgery and it shocked me. Along with the meds for recovery and the increased mobility i was able to get thru the first 30 days without sugar which helped. What you are doing is NOT a crutch. It’s a method to get you started and see some progress. It may work for you. It may not. I hope it does. You are in the position of having a husband who values his health and will thus value your improving health as do I. Read Oprah’s recent revelation regarding ozempic/mounjaro that she took to get herself to a healthy weight. She was embarrassed to acknowledge that was the method she used but you know what, an injection or pill to help with healthier nutritional intake beats diabetes, ruined joints and back/neck/knee/hip destruction from excessive weight for extended periods of time. You are a gorgeous, funny smart girl. Do what works best for you to get to a healthy weight. From one tall girl to another🥰

Thanks for the suggestions and comments. I know what to do, I just can't do it. The more I need to do it, the more I self sabotage. I've done everything- pills, nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, noom, wondr (Bcbs insurance program), Weigh Down Workshop, healthy wage- that was a fucking fiasco and I lost money, slim fast, dexatrim, Atkins, Medifast, pain old calorie counting, so on and so forth. I have had excellent results with most things for as long as I could stick to it. I can't stick to it right now. I can't get back into the swing of things. I cannot believe I got down to a size 8- probably would've easily been a 6 if I ever cared enough to get skin removal- and then gained it all back after 2 years. I worked so hard and if I ever get to that point again, I'm never going to gain it back. Ever. So we'll see what happens.

Not sure if you are interested in Contrave, but I have a friend who is taking it and it helps with wanting to eat and is cheaper. $99 a month plus online provider visit to get prescription if you go to get Contrave.com or maybe if you want to go to Dr insurance will cover it.

“Food noise.” What a great way to describe it. I hear it, too.
